Template:Current television series Template:Big Brother housematesPinoy Big Brother: Season 2 is the second official season of Pinoy Big Brother and aired on ABS-CBN's primetime block. As with the show's previous full & special seasons, it also airs a companion program on Studio 23. It began with a live party on February 25, 2007. It is scheduled to run for 126 days (18 weeks).

Toni Gonzaga and Mariel Rodriguez are reprising their roles as Primetime/Live show host and UpLate host respectively, while Celebrity Edition housemate Bianca Gonzalez again hosts the Update reports, a role she did in the Teen Edition. First season housemate Jason Gainza joins the hosts as the Man-of-the-Street reporter.

Meanwhile, Asia Agcaoili again takes hosting chores for the show's companion program on Studio 23, along with the puppet Pining. They share hosting chores with new host Sitti Navarro.

Also for the show's new season, the theme song Pinoy Ako has been rehashed, this time performed by the band Cebalo (composed of Yvan Lambatan, Panky Trinidad, Eman Abatayo, and Davey Langit of Pinoy Dream Academy).

Aside from Gonzalez's Updates aired throughout the day, the morning show Magandang Umaga, Pilipinas also reports updates from inside the House.

House concept

The hosts of Season 2: (L-R) Bianca Gonzalez, Mariel Rodriguez, Jason Gainza, and Toni Gonzaga

The concept of the house is a pop-art scheme, with a predominantly lime green living area with pastel colors. It has been equipped with 42 cameras and 42 overhead microphones. The men's bedroom have the beds in a linear pattern, while the women's beds in their bedroom are in a circular pattern. Rocking chairs and other furniture have also been added, as well as gym equipment, a large bathroom with showers and a jacuzzi, separate restrooms for the men and women, a separate prayer room, and a bridge over the swimming pool. The confession (aka diary) room is now tangerine-colored and expanded. Furthermore, the front doors to the house are now located at the garden, leading to the eviction hall next door (the auditorium previously used in Pinoy Dream Academy).

There are two secret areas in the house. The first secret area is separated from the garden by a gate. It is initially filled with sand and had bamboo furniture and an area for urination. The secret housemates occupied this area in their first five days of stay in the house. Afterwards, the location became common knowledge for the housemates and it has been used as a Big Brother-sponsored activity area. The other secret area is adjacent to the confession room. It has been previously used by Gee-Ann, Wendy, and Mickey as a "quarantine area" when they caught Robert's "disease" on Week 5. Currently, the secret ex-housemates occupy this secret area.

The interiors of the various rooms were designed by students from the Philippine School of Interior Design. The revamped larger layout of the House could be attributed to the fact that the House was previously used as the Academy during the filming of Pinoy Dream Academy. Major renovations had to be done for the second season.

Housemates

On Day 1, only six housemates entered the house. The next six housemates entered the house on Days 7 to 12. The final four housemates entered the house on Day 14. The number of housemates thus reached 16, although only 14 were promised in the pre-season teasers. All are ordered here by entrance.

First batch

Ezekiel Dimaguila

Ezekiel Joshua "Zeke" Dimaguila (born: November 2, 1985 in Australia) is a 21-year-old online gamer from Australia. Prior to his entry to the house, he is said to have played the World of Warcraft for up to 15 hours straight. He is known for his frank attitude towards his housemates especially with the girl housemates. Ezekiel was first evicted on Day 35, but returned to the House on Day 78.

Wendy Valdez

Wendy Valdez (born: June 2, 1982 in Manila) is a 24-year-old commercial model from Navotas. Modeling under Mercator models,[1] she is a student from Far Eastern University and previously a Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism titleholder, she currently lives in a squatters' area prior to her stay in the house. As a commercial model, she has been seen in commercials such as those of the Unilever brand Close-Up and food company Jollibee. She has also appeared in music videos such as "Binibini" of the reggae group Brownman Revival. She has also worked previously in Japan as an entertainer. Wendy also made it to the Final 38 Star Dreamers of Pinoy Dream Academy, but failed to make it as a scholar. She was earlier launched as a part of the girl group Dream Girls along with other female star dreamers, but failed to gain recognition. In the house, she is known for her excessive cigarette smoking. Wendy was first evicted on Day 70, but returned to the House on Day 78.

Saicy Aguila

Saicy Aguila (born: November 13, 1983 in Iloilo City) is a 23-year-old dancesport and samba instructor in Bacolod City. She calls herself "bobo" (unintelligent) due to her failing grades during her high school and college days. Another reason is that she did not pass the teachers' board exam when she graduated. Saicy dreams to be an actress someday. She is also a hardworking person.

Gee-Ann Abrahan

Gianina Maria "Gee-Ann" Abrahan (born: November 6, 1985 in Quezon City) is a 21-year-old cheerleader from Quezon City. She was a former student of Assumption College San Lorenzo Makati. She is said to be a "mother" of eight "children" (actually dolls and stuffed toys) since age 6. The one she owned the longest, a baby doll called Pamela which is in her possession for 15 years, is taken along with her inside the house. She gave Pamela away on Day 63.

Mickey Perz

Michael Richard "Mickey" Perz (born: June 1, 1984 in Vienna, Austria) is a 22-year-old hip-hop dancer and mixer from Switzerland. Being half-Filipino and half-Austrian, he was secretly tasked to speak only German during the first week. In reality, Mickey could also speak fluent Filipino, as well as English and French. In the Big Brother House, he is well known to be a good listener and adviser to his housemates.

Second batch

Robert Woods

Robert Woods II (born: April 21, 1983 in Las Pinas City) is a 24-year-old pet lover and fastfood restaurant shift manager from Birmingham in the United Kingdom. Being half-British and half-Filipino, he lived a normal life in the Philippines with his Filipina mother until he flew to England after finding out about his stroke-ridden British father. He stayed in England for three years prior to his entry to the house just to take care of his father, despite his father leaving him for another woman during his first recovery.

Beatriz Saw

Maria Beatriz Imperial "Bea" Saw (born: November 17, 1985 in Muntinlupa City) is a 21-year-old resource associate from Camarines Sur and a graduate from the Jesuit run Ateneo de Naga University. She is of Chinese descent. Prior to her entry to the House, her family moved from place to place because of poverty. After some years together, her father currently works in Taiwan, while her mother goes around the country as a social worker, leaving her to act as a breadwinner for her sisters, who are staying with their aunt in Camarines Sur, while working in a consulting firm in Makati. She is well known for her friendly personality, her loud laugh, and happy dispostition. Her aim in being inside the House is to reunite her scattered family.

Kian Kazemi

Kian Kazemi (born: January 26, 1986 in Makati City) is a 21-year-old track and field runner and restaurant owner/manager from Makati. He joined the track-and-field team despite having alopecia areata. Graduated from College of Saint Benilde, he is also half-Persian and half-Filipino. Kian also describes himself as a playboy who has been reformed, having been exposed to marijuana during his teens. Kian was first evicted on Day 49, but returned to the House on Day 78.

Jasmin Engracia

Maria Jasmin Engracia (born: July 19, 1984 ) is a 22-year-old college student and sales merchant from Davao City. Because her parents are separated, she goes through college by selling various wares, an occupation that she has done since childhood. She aims to use her ways of selling her goods during her stay in the House. Jasmin was first evicted on Day 29, but returned to the House on Day 78.

Bruce Quebral

Bruce Angelo Quebral (born: December 29, 1981 in Pasig City) is 25-year-old commercial model and former varsity basketball player from Cainta, Rizal. Modeling under Mercator models,[2] he previously played for the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in the UAAP and the Granny Goose Tortillos in the Philippine Basketball League before suffering an injury which put him out of the court. He also represented Philippines in Manhunt International 2002 competition. Being the oldest of the offspring, he also stands as breadwinner for his family after his father died of thyroid cancer. He is the housemate sent to the Slovenian Big Brother House in exchange for Tina Semolic, the Slovenian housemate who stayed in the House for five days.

Dionne Monsanto

Dionne Dennia Monsanto (born: December 5, 1985 in Cebu) is a 21-year-old college student and local celebrity from Cebu City. Prior to her entry to the house, she is already a local celebrity in the Visayas, having appeared in the Cebuano language drama series For Life.[3] She currently takes up Mass Communication in the Visayan campus of the University of Philippines. She also relates that her father has been missing for some time and she has siblings sired by different men. After Geraldine's exit, she was also sent out in the house on Day 77.

Third batch

The following housemates entered and stayed in two secret areas of the house. Only two of them would become official housemates and enter the main House area. They were also tasked to gather some of their basic necessities from the main House area without being caught. Being caught would mean automatic eviction. For four days, only Ezekiel and Dionne knew about their presence and could not divulge this to the others except Big Brother. Eventually, these housemates were revealed to the others on Day 18. For the sake of explanation and because they entered the house without the knowledge of Ezekiel and Dionne's fellow housemates, they are referred to in this article as the "secret housemates."

However, as only two of the four could become the 13th and 14th official housemates, their fate inside the house was determined by public voting.

Bodie Cruz

Elmo Jeremiah "Bodie" Cruz (born: September 8, 1985 in Las Piñas City) is a 21-year-old software developer from Las Piñas City. He is the son of actor Tirso Cruz III, and with his entry in the House, he wants to break away from the image of being a "showbiz son." Naturally, because of his showbiz connections, he was once a mainstay of the youth-talent show Ang TV before living a life of obscurity prior to his stay in the House. On Day 21, he was proclaimed an official housemate.

Jeremy Legazpi

Jeremy Legazpi (born: December 21, 1986 in Mountain Province) is a 20-year-old voice dubber from Japan. He initially went to Japan to seek out his mother, which he found remarried to a Japanese man. He aims that after his stay in the House, he will find a job to provide financial support for himself and eventually for his mother. In the official website, he is known under his stepfather's surname, Hidano. Jeremy was evicted on Day 21.

Maricris Dizon

Maricris Dizon (born: March 28, 1980 in Pampanga) is a 27-year-old stylist from Italy. She is a daughter of Filipinos working in that country. Her mother works as a domestic helper while her father works as a messenger. She is said to be proud of her parents' blue-collar jobs and have not experienced any discrimination despite being an Asian in Italy. On Day 21, she was proclaimed an official housemate. She is the eldest among the housemates. In the House, she is known to be confrontational and pushy, to the point that she had a shouting match with Beatriz (see below). She was forced out of the House on Day 65 after committing forms of violence on herself and her fellow housemates.

Mikah Dizon

Mikah Dizon (born: June 14, 1986 in Baguio City) is a 20-year-old buxom student from Baguio City. She describes herself at a party girl at night, which often leads to misconceptions and even some jail time. She had also straightened her relations with her mother. She is not related in any way to Maricris, despite both having the same surname. Mikah was evicted on Day 21.

Fourth batch

After Maricris's exit on Day 65, it had been announced that a 30-something-year-old mother would take her place. In a twist that even the viewers did not see coming, two new housemates, both of whom fit the description, entered the housemate on Day 70. They lived in the house for a week and only one of them stayed longer. The choice of who should stay rested on the nine remaining housemates at the time. Regardless of who stayed, the new housemates, both mothers and one of them married, are a deviation from the other remaining housemates, all single and in their twenties.

Geraldine Javier

Geraldine Javier, or "Giei," is a 32-year-old single mother and market vendor from Quezon City. She had previously worked in Japan as an entertainer and had failed relationships, which resulted in two children. She was evicted on Day 77 by a unanimous decision of 0 out of 9 votes voted by the housemates.

Yen Galagnara

Yen Galagnara is a 35-year-old mother and Korean school ESL teacher from Quezon City. Having a shaved head, she regards herself as a modern kind of wife and mother. Also, she used to be a fashion designer, hence her hairstyle and style of clothing.

Houseguests

The following special housemates are termed here as houseguests, because while the housemates stayed until possibly the end of the season, the following people stayed in the House for no more than a specific amount of time without undergoing the nomination and eviction process.

The first houseguest was Tina Semolic, a 22-year-old former beauty queen from Koper, Slovenia. A contestant in the Slovenian version, she was involved in the Big Brother Swap, trading places with Bruce. She was profiled as a fatherless woman who tried her best for mother and siblings. She stayed from Days 56 to 61. (More details on Big Brother Swap section)

The second houseguest, now currently inside the House, is Hanna, a 21-year-old college student and single mother from Las Piñas City. She has been profiled as a woman with a riches-to-rags story after her father was swindled by a Singaporean man. Despite her current poverty, her family remains united and she remains strong through many hardships. She stayed from Days 85 to 91, and her stay was made possible by a promotion launched by Globe Telecom, giving its subscribers a chance to live inside the House for a week. Hanna was among the twenty subscribers screened for the show, who in turn were selected from those who joined the promotion.

Chronology of important events

Week 1

The season started with a military theme as a subtle reminder that the second season's premiere fell (ironically) on the anniversary of the 1986 EDSA Revolution. The housemates were taken to the House in a truck used by the Philippine Marines. The initial six housemates went inside the house barefoot and in their sleeping wear. They were also cuffed in very unusual ways before being taken in.

On Day 6, Mickey's secret task ended and Mickey is told that he could finally talk to them in Filipino. Since Big Brother told Mickey that he can reveal his secret task to everyone in his own way, Mickey revealed his fluency in Tagalog initially to Wendy, then to Nel, and eventually to the others.

On Day 7, Robert entered the House, dressed up as a delivery boy, bringing with him burger meals and ice cream for the other six as a reward for an earlier daily task.

Week 2

On Day 8, Beatriz entered the house with a task of kissing her fellow housemates twice on the cheek. The other female housemates (Saicy, Wendy, and Gee-Ann) were in turn tasked by Big Brother to arrange the hair of a "friend" and apply make-up on her. He was talking about Beatriz and the three did not know that she was the newest housemate.

On Day 9, Kian entered the house as a genie to represent his Middle Eastern heritage. He was placed inside a giant lamp and he could only come out when someone touched the lamp thrice. That person was Mickey. Mickey in turn would give Kian three wishes that Kian must fulfill before sunrise (according to Big Brother), otherwise Kian would return inside the lamp. Kian granted only one wish and worse, Nel (who was secretly tasked by Big Brother) egged him to do everything in the morning. Kian hid again inside the lamp, but out of sympathy, Nel and the female housemates joined him inside for 30 seconds before finally freeing him.

On Day 10, Jasmin entered the house through the confession room and was tasked to go to any room where she must sleep without being caught. She did so at the point when the other housemates were having a discussion at the living area. Unfortunately, Mickey saw her hiding in the bathroom. As a result, she cooked adobo for everyone the next night.

On Day 11, Bruce entered the house to act as a referee for a special netball-like game the housemates were about to play.

On Day 12, Dionne entered the house with a special task of teaching Tahitian dance to the others.

On Day 13, Ezekiel, Bruce, Mickey, and Robert were cleared to have their blood donated. The first three donated their blood without a hitch, but Robert's blood was not taken because of his fear of needles, which he himself cannot explain how it started. To put out his frustration, he shaved off his face hair, almost to the point of unrecognizability by everyone else in the House, including Big Brother.

On Day 14, the four secret housemates were placed in a secret area of the House which is right beside the garden. Ezekiel, being the first to enter, and Dionne, the last official one to make an entrance, were made aware of the four by Big Brother and were tasked by him to take care of the four and make sure the four have their basic necessities without everyone else knowing about the presence of the four. If the two were successful in this secret task by Day 18, they would be immune on the first nomination night; otherwise, they would become automatic nominees.

Week 3

On Day 15, Big Brother reprimanded Gee-Ann, Nel, Kian, Jasmin, Robert, and Bruce for various violations of house rules such as talking without a lapel microphone, mouthing of words, asking and talking about current events in the outside world, and others, as well as Gee-Ann's breach for the weight rule. Their punishment was served on Day 20 (see below).

On Day 18, Ezekiel and Dionne finally revealed the four secret housemates to the other official housemates through a task in which the secret housemates wore the clothes of the official housemates. This task and Dionne and Ezekiel's secret mission were imperiled earlier by Mickey when he glimpsed Dionne and Mikah in the middle of the night and tried to ask Dionne and Ezekiel about what he saw later in the day. But since Ezekiel and Dionne managed to pull their task off, they were proclaimed immune on the first official nomination round.

On Day 19, Gee-Ann expressed her intention to leave the House in exchange for saving a third secret housemate from eviction. The next day, Gee-Ann made her mind up to have Maricris take her place. But Big Brother reminded her that the ground for a voluntary exit is surrender. But since she decided to fight on and a third secret housemate cannot be saved from eviction anyway, her impending voluntary exit had officially been scrapped.

On Day 20, Big Brother meted the punishment for Gee-Ann, Nel, Kian, Jasmin, Robert, and Bruce for their violations of house rules. They were made to pick cards to determine their fate. Nel, Jasmin, and Bruce picked smiley faces and were saved from what would happen next to Robert, Kian, and Gee-Ann, who all picked bullets. Robert, Kian, and Gee-Ann then picked cards from a second deck. Kian got unlucky when he picked the gun, which signified his automatic nomination. On the other hand, Robert and Gee-Ann picked a rain cloud and lightning and a balloon about to be popped respectively.

Week 4

On Day 25, Bruce was informed by Big Brother that his mother was taken to the hospital due to her chronic asthma and Bruce must make a sacrifice for her benefit. The sacrifice was to shoot baskets and accumulate 80,000 points, the amount of money (in Philippine pesos) to pay for his mother's hospital bills. His sacrifice started the next day. His fellow housemates also helped, but he should not inform them of the purpose. Although he and his fellow housemates only scored about 9,000 points five days later, the goal had been reached because concerned viewers, passers-by, and several of ABS-CBN's talents also participated in the task by shooting baskets in a makeshift court outside the House.

On Day 28, the housemates formed into teams composed of each gender and then participated in games which tested their intelligence, smarts, and guts.

  • The first game saw one of two members of each team dip themselves in drums of water while other members correctly answered questions until the second member inside a drum rose up from the water. The men won this game 11-3.
  • The second game had the housemates gather eels for their team from a pool of water. The men again won this game, 16 eels to 11. This advanced the men into the final game.
  • In the final game, the men, all smothered with baby oil, wrestled with each other on a platform until one remained. Kian won that challenge.
  • In the consolation game, the women hung themselves on pairs of suspended rings and held on as long as they could before dropping into the pool below. Gee-Ann and Wendy won in that game.

Gee-Ann and Wendy, being the consolation game winners, each had P1,000 to spend on their own needs. Kian, being the winner of the final game, became automatically immune in the second nomination round. His immunity would only take effect if he would survive eviction the next night, which he did.

Also on Day 28, Dionne and Ezekiel's relationship became a topic of concern for Big Brother, particularly on Dionne's act of biting on Ezekiel's arm. The other housemates were informed of this and were made to decide whether or not her act was an act of violence. Of course, Big Brother also talked to Ezekiel and Dionne about their side of the story. The house rules state that any form of violence is not allowed in the house and the housemate who makes such behavior is immediately removed from the House. The other housemates did not see Dionne's biting as a form of violence, although they did deem it as improper. Meanwhile, her application of sunblock on Ezekiel's genitalia caught the eye of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), the censorship body in the Philippines, to which the program promptly apologized.

Week 5

On Day 31, Ezekiel was tasked to dress and act like a woman. This was to let him experience what the female housemates saw was his ill treatment against them. Furthermore, the male housemates, through Robert, were tasked to treat "Imelda" (as Ezekiel's new persona was called) the same way Ezekiel treated the women.

On Day 33, Kian's wounds on his legs and feet, which he obtained during the special games five days before got worse because he did not follow the doctor's orders of not dancing and walking too much. After further redressing of his wounds, he was put on a wheelchair and tasked to help Bruce make 1,000 decorative palm branches in preparation for Palm Sunday (which was Day 36). Kian's worsening of injuries came in the midst of a fake epidemic wherein Robert was tasked to pretend he was ailing from a "disease" he contracted from the House pet Buddy and Gee-Ann, Mickey, and Wendy were told to pretend that they caught Robert's "disease".

Week 6

On Day 36, the four housemates who were involved in the fake epidemic instigated by Big Brother played a special snakes and ladders game. The giant board monkey bars to represent the ladders and slides for the snakes. At the foot of the slides were pits containing things that most housemates would cringe at their sight, such as rats, muddy water, water containing words, blood, and the like. The winner of the game would become immune from nomination. Mickey won the challenge with the help of his assigned partner, Kian, who rolled the die for him during the course of the game.

On Day 37, Gee-Ann was horrified to find out that more than five pounds from the first week was added to the weight she had upon entry into the House. Five pounds is the limit set by Big Brother on the amount weight each housemate can gain (there is no limit on how much weight they could lose). Because of her weight gain, she earned an automatic nomination.

On Days 39 to 42, the housemates celebrated the Holy Week by performing tasks related to various traditions connected to the Holy Week. In particular, on Black Saturday (Day 42), the housemates used a giant rosary in the secret garden to pray the Joyful Mysteries twice.

Week 8

On Day 51, Gee-Ann once again kept her weight above the five-pound limit. Faced with another possible automatic nomination, she was given the choice of facing or preventing it by giving up her doll Pamela. Two days later, she made the decision of sacrificing Pamela, which for her was hard to do considering that she owned the doll for 15 years.

Also on Day 51, Wendy temporarily left the house to attend her graduation rites and obtain her diploma. This was made possible because Far Eastern University allowed her to do so under the conditions set by Big Brother (i.e. she would be transported to the venue blindfolded and she was not to make any contact with anyone). Upon her return to the House, she and her fellow housemates reenacted the event.

On the night of Day 53, Bruce left the House to head for Slovenia. As early the night before, Bruce was informed to pack his things and prepare for his departure. His fellow housemates, who were as unaware of the Swap as he was, were saddened by the news of his departure. Wendy was visibly the most affected, crying to the point that she was almost out of breath and had to be treated just to calm her down. Bruce only knew of the Swap upon arrival at NAIA while waiting for his flight.

After over a month, Robert finally got over his fear of needles and had his blood donated on Day 55, with Saicy by his side. This was made possible by several techniques of coming over the fear, such as visualization, putting pointed objects on his skin, and accupuncture. Robert even became brave enough to have a needle inserted in his skin.

The next day (Day 56), in the midst of Robert's birthday celebration, Slovenian housemate Tina entered the house, still wearing the Slovenian national costume, which she wore when she left her country. She gave the Philippine housemates heart-shaped chocolates bearing the name "Slovenija" (the local name of her country) on them. Since there is a six-hour difference between the Philippines and Slovenia, Bruce's entry into the Slovenian House on Day 35 of the Slovenian version was seen by primetime viewers in the Philippines the next day.

Week 9

On Day 60, in the midst of the Tambuan Festival (see below), Maricris told Nel that Beatriz had a crush on him, something Beatriz denied, despite Maricris pushing her on. This started a great rift between Maricris and Beatriz which escalated into a shouting match three days later, with Nel becoming a mere spectator. The issue was eventually resolved, and the two later reconciled, even after Maricris knew of her fate (see "Week 10" below). Nel, Mickey, and Bodie did commend the usually calm and cheerful Beatriz for dishing out her dangerous side.

On the morning of Day 61, Tina finally left the Philippine House to return to her country. She wore a Philippine Terno on her way back to Slovenia and she was given a send-off bash by people both inside and outside the House. Bruce returned to the Philippine Big Brother House the next day (Day 62) without much fanfare (understandably) from the outside world.

On Day 63, Bruce was given an exemption from the next nomination round for successfully fulfilling his role in the Big Brother Swap.

Also on Day 63, Gee-Ann was also able to say goodbye her doll Pamela (see above). Although she also wanted to have herself automatically nominated at the same time, Big Brother refused to give it because her sacrificing Pamela also saved her from automatic nomination. Pamela will be in Big Brother's care until Gee-Ann chooses a sick child who deserves the care Pamela will provide.

Also, Wendy admitted to some of her fellow female housemates, to Big Brother, and to Bruce her mistake of accidentally turning off her lapel microphone just to talk to Maricris one night. Although she was lauded for her honesty, she was still given the automatic nomination on Day 63.

Week 10

On Day 64, the housemates had their weekly weight-in and some of the housemates were surprised over their weight gained, especially Gee-Ann, whose gain is still over five pounds. But Big Brother understood everybody's weight gain because of the different feasts they had during Tina's stay the previous week, so he passed it up. But Big Brother gave Gee-Ann one week to lose some weight with the help of Mickey. Otherwise, she would be evicted from the House. Gee-Ann would have been evicted anyway if not for Big Brother's understanding because she breached the five-pound rule for the third time.

Also on Day 64, Big Brother told Maricris of her forced eviction because of several forms of violence she had done on herself (such as knocking her head on the wall a few days before Bruce left for Slovenia) and several others (such as jokingly telling Beatriz during their shouting match that she would stab her). Maricris exited the next day. As early as the night before Maricris knew of her fate, Nel, Mickey, and Bodie already received the news from Big Brother, with everybody else knowing about it later.

On Day 70, Geraldine and Yen entered the house to take Maricris' place. To make their entrance a secret from the other housemates, they entered through the confession room.

Week 11

On Day 71, Gee-Ann was once again horrified to find out that while she lost a little weight, the weight she gained was still over five pounds, despite her and Mickey's efforts to lose the weight. Even Big Brother was puzzled. But when Gee-Ann mentioned that she had problems on her menstrual cycle, an obstetrician-gynecologist was consulted and found out that her hormonal problems made her weight gain uncontrollable. Big Brother therefore decided neither to evict her nor to give her an automatic nomination, but told her to continue her exercise regimen with Mickey.

On Day 73, Bruce felt pain at the right side of his abdomen, apparently hit by Mickey's knee during a game earlier that day. Although it was possibly just muscular pain, Bruce was sent to the hospital to have the right side examined by ultrasound and rule out the possibility of internal bleeding from his right kidney. It was determined that there was no internal bleeding, so he returned to the house a few hours later.

On Day 76, Gee-Ann admitted to Mickey (and later to Big Brother) that she talked while her lapel microphone was accidentally turned off. Nine days later, despite her honesty, she was given an automatic nomination. This was the same violation Wendy committed that led to her automatic nomination and eviction.

On Day 77, the nine younger housemates elected Yen to stay in the house, 9-0 against Gie. The voting simulated regular voting during recent Philippine elections, complete with a ballot box, in which they placed their votes. Their voting is also the closest they did to actually voting during the elections since they could not do so on the May 14 elections for obvious reasons. Election day fell on Day 79.

Week 12

(At this point, the program fumbled on its day count as it labelled what supposed to be Day 78 as "Day 80," and so on; this was corrected a week later, when the day labelled as "Day 88" was followed by "Day 87." The day number the program used during that time until the correction is enclosed in the parentheses.)

In another new twist to the show, Ezekiel, Wendy, Kian, and Jasmin were brought back inside the house on Day 78 (80). However, they could only stay in the secret room and use the passage between that room and the confession room. They could also use the storage room, but they have to get through the main house area to get supplies without being seen by the other housemates. Only two of them would eventually re-enter the house area and reunite with the other housemates; this was determined by public voting.

On Day 81 (83), the returning housemates were tasked to do some painting using their bodies to express their feelings. Later, the main housemates did the same, however they did their task blindfolded because the returning housemates, gagged by surgical tape, would help them by splashing paint on their bodies. This was the first interaction between the returning housemates and the main housemates since each of the returning housemates' first evictions.

On Day 84, the public voted to put Kian and Wendy back in the House. Jasmin and Ezekiel, however, were not evicted immediately. Ezekiel in particular was allowed by Big Brother to stay with the main housemates, but he could only do so overnight. Big Brother gave the chance to Ezekiel so the latter could iron out any kinks that he left behind during his first stay. This circumstance was also the reason why the voting results were announced in the House studio that night rather than in the eviction hall. Ezekiel left the next day.

Week 13

On Day 85 (87), after Ezekiel left the House, Jasmin rejoined the main housemates for her overnight stay, being given the same opportunity as Ezekiel.

Also on Day 85, during their weekly weigh-in, Saicy found out that she gained 6.4 pounds from the weight she had when she entered the house, more than the five-pound weight gain limit. Because of this, she was automatically nominated for eviction. Gee-Ann, who also had weight problems in the past, kept her weight below five points, despite obtaining an automatic nominated for another violation she made (see above).

Again on Day 85, houseguest Hanna entered the house and was immediately given a task by Big Brother: pretend to be five months pregnant. Unknown to her, the housemates were told by Big Brother that their new guest was just pretending to be pregnant and should treat her as such. Her task eventually ended the next day.

Kian and Wendy finally rejoined their fellow housemates on Day 86 (88). However, their newest task would separate the men from the women for a week and preventing any form of communication, effictively cutting off ties between the two pairs Bruce and Wendy and Saicy and Robert, all have feelings for the other. The next day, the house was accordingly divided into areas only to be occupied by the men and the women and areas that both can genders could use, but only one gender could do so at a time. They even participated in tasks wherein they competed for privileges in using the garden swing (the women won), the swimming pool (the men won) and even the bathroom (won by the women).

On Days 88 and 89, snippets from the TV show Ang TV were heard and seen in the House. In particular, footage of Bodie in that show were shown much to his embarassment, relating how "ugly" he was during his youth. To take one step further, the housemates were tasked to use "Esmyuskee" and "Nge!"—both popularized by the said show—in their conversation, later leading to the trading of "Esmyuskee" jokes. Even Kian said such jokes to himself (and Big Brother) in the secret room, which is part of his punishment for being stuck in the restroom while the women were in the main House area (as per the gender separation task, the men and women were not supposed to be in the same area).

On Day 89, Bruce and Hanna won games to become messengers of each gender to the other. They could only relay two messages at a time, and could do so using charades on each other. Furthermore, they could not send their own messages. Since the determining games involved snails, Bruce and Hanna dressed up and acted as snails. The next day, Nel took Bruce's after the former dared the latter.

Also on Day 89, Nel expressed the intention of making a voluntary exit citing his yearning for his father, his perceived model of discipline. However, he changed his mind the next day.

On Day 90, the gender housemates temporarily had a chance to talk to each other while having a meal, with the exception of Beatriz and Wendy who cooked the food. Hanna took a while to eat her meal of snails because of her fear of the tiny creatures.

On Day 91, houseguest Hanna bid farewell to the housemates and exited the House.

Weekly tasks

Week 1: Sand by Me

The housemates were tasked to build a sand castle which replicates a model nearby. It has to be finished by Friday. Furthermore, they must do the task in beach wear and must start and finish the task for each day when Pinoy Ako is played. The housemates bet 50% of their weekly allowance on this task.

The housemates were successful in their task, although only 25% was added because the sand castle they made was not the same as the model. PHP1,199 was also deducted from the budget to pay for the vase Gee-Ann accidentally broke during the week. An additional PHP750 was added the next day after the housemates successfully brought down the rest of their luggage without getting any of those bags wet in the pool.

Week 2: Room Service

Since a few of the housemates could cook, Big Brother tasked the housemates to cook several dishes ordered by Big Brother. The dishes then were be judged by their taste, efficiency, and presentaion. The housemates bet 60% of their weekly allowance on this task.

The housemates failed their weekly task because while they cooked their dishes in the alloted time and were satisfactory in their presentation of dishes, the taste of the dishes got mostly negative reviews. Furthermore, Big Brother deducted some points because several housemates forgot to wear either their aprons or toques while accomplishing the task.[4] The persons who sampled the dishes were ordinary people on the street.

Week 3: Harry Potter

According to the official website and UpLate reports, the official housemates (to set them apart from the secret housemates) were tasked to make pottery out of the clay provided to them. Each day, each housemate had to finish a specific kind of pottery stated by Big Brother and present it to him when it is done. Despite having little or no experience in making pottery, they confidently bet 75% of their weekly allowance on this task.[5]

The housemates however failed the task because 75% of the pottery they made were in poor condition and the housemates had not even had their works glazed.[6]

Viewers of the primetime telecast never knew about this weekly task until the day of the first nomination night because the program was focused on the secret housemates and how there are tended by Ezekiel and Dionne.

Week 4: A-maze-ing Task

The housemates were tasked to cross a string maze in the secret garden without touching any of the strings or sounding the bells that are attached to the strings.[7] They had the whole week to work out strategies on crossing the maze and practice making their moves. They then made their actual attempt on Day 27, witnessed live by viewers. They bet 50% of their weekly allowance on this task.

The housemates once again failed the task because several housemates sounded the bells eight times during their actual attempt, the number of times required for the task to become a failure.

Week 5: Watermill or No Mill

The housemates were tasked to run a water mill using water from the swimming pool. They would manually transfer the water to the water mill using pails. The water mill should be kept running day and night because if it stops for more than 30 seconds, the task will become a failure. Therefore, at least one housemate should work on the task. Housemates also should take care of their lapel microphones and keep them from getting wet while performing the task. They bet 60% of their weekly allowance on this task.[8]

The housemates finally succeeded in this task. Although this was not actually their first success, as the program always asserted (see above), this was the first win wherein the entire amount they bet was added to their weekly budget.

Week 6: Egg-specially for Easter

Dressed as rabbits, the housemates were tasked to make at least 500 Easter eggs. But before they could paint the eggs, the eggs should be extracted of their contents first (of course, without cracking the eggshells). Then, the yolks and whites were then used to make batches of leche flan mixture. The empty eggshells should then be refilled with the mixture. Only when the mixture is set inside the eggshells that the eggs should be painted. Furthermore, the housemates should hop around while wearing their rabbit gear. They bet 60% of their weekly budget for this task.

The housemates failed in their task because they only made 293 easter eggs, both fully and partially painted. Worse, some of them did their task while they forgot to wear other parts of their costume, such as the ears, whiskers, or rabbit shoes, and to hop around while in costume. The announcement was made on Black Saturday, a day later than usual, because most business establishments, especially supermarkets, are closed on Good Friday.

Week 7: Rice to the Occasion

Dressed in traditional Filipino clothes, the housemates were tasked to process several sacks of newly harvested rice using the method of pagbabayo or rice pounding. They were provided with several objects used in pagbabayo such as the sacks of rice, mortars, pestles, and bilao (woven bamboo platters). Furthermore, to complete the ambience of Filipino country life, native Filipino music is heard around the House. They were supposed to bet 60% of their budget, but Big Brother requested that they bet their entire budget because the rice processed in this task will be donated to charity.[9]

In the three days the housemates performed the task, they exhibited hard work, perseverance, and cooperation, which characterize the Filipino trait of bayanihan, to the point that some of them had blisters in their hands. Because of this, Big Brother not only stopped the task at the end of the third day, but also deemed it a success. In exchange, Big Brother would fulfill his promise of donating a sack of rice to a family of each housemate's choice.

Week 8: 100 Treasures

The housemates would take on several survival tasks, while dressed as different kinds of people depending on the task. In the process, they would earn gold coins. The number of gold coins obtained would determine how much the amount to be increased or decreased from their budget. If they earned at least sixty coins, that would be the percentage added to their budget; any less and the budget would have the same percentage as the number of gold coins amassed. The maximum number of coins to be amassed in this task is 100 coins. The way this task would affect their budget was the reason they didn't bet anything on this task.

In the three activities the housemates performed, which saw them as primitive people, air crash survivors, and Vikings and Amazons, the housemates found out that they won their weekly task and earned a weekly budget of P9,350, an increase of 87% from P5,000.[10]

Week 9: Big Brother Fiesta

The housemates were tasked to organize and prepare an original festival to let Slovenian housemate Tina immerse in the colorful Philippine fiestas and the well-known "Filipino hospitality". The fiesta took place on Wednesday (Day 60). The housemates bet 85% of their budget on this task.

Seeing that housemates had fun in the "Tambuan Festival" that they organized and even perfected an original "Tambuan" tribal dance, Big Brother deemed the task a success. Furthermore, the festival served as a big day-long farewell party for Tina, who returned to Slovenia the next day.

Weeks 10 & 11: School Daze/Summer-yenda ni Kuya

Dressed as schoolchildren, the housemates would take part in activities which would enable them to raise no less than P300,000 to be donated to some elementary schoolchildren in Iloilo for their school supplies and the repair of their dilapidated school buildings. One of these activities is making summer foodstuffs and desserts to be sold to passers-by outside the House. The sales would go straight to their fund. Since the money raise will go to charity, the housemates did not bet anything from their weekly budget.

This was regarded as the first open-ended weekly task because the food-making task continued until Tuesday of the next week and a new task, wherein the housemates prepared and performed a puppet show was done on Friday. The two activities raised P175,713.50. Although this was still shy of the required amount, the task was still successful as two of the shows sponsors, Globe Asiatique and Unilever's Surf, donated a total of P150,000, thereby elevating the total amount to P325,713.50. This amount does not include donations of books and school supplies and P1.3 million worth of Converse shoes. As a sign of gratitude, the school gave the program and the network plaques of appreciation.

Week 12: Ano ang Habi N'yo?

The housemates were tasked to find a way unwind a large, compacted ball of rope using their hands and teeth and use the rope to make a large welcome mat. They should finish the mat by Friday. They bet 75% of their weekly budget on this task.

The housemates failed in this task because the doormat they made did not pass quality standards (i.e. it became frayed after numerous beatings). Nonetheless, Big Brother only slashed half of the budget because of the effort and teamwork they had in making the doormat.[11] The "friends" who tested the mat were the returning housemates.

What they did not know was that the returning housemates formed the ball the night before the weekly task began, making sure the ball they made was wrapped tightly enough to give the main housemates a hard time unwinding the rope. However, as implied above, the main housemates managed to unwind the rope. As a result, the four returning housemates were bound to each other on their hands and feet with rope for one day.

Week 13: Boat Wisely

The housemates were tasked to build four boats using the materials provided. They would have until Thursday to construct the boats. On Friday, the boats would be tested. The housemates bet 50% of their weekly budget on this task.

The Big Red Phone

On Day 23 (March 19, 2007), a large red telephone was placed inside the House. It was announced the day before that the phone would ring in different instances, and each call would inform the housemate who would answer the call of a different reward or punishment. The housemate who would answer each call would receive any of the following news:

  • 1st Call: Staying in the sun for a day and no baths for two days (received by Ezekiel)
  • 2nd Call: Haircut, facial massage, and "full body foot massage" (received by Mickey)
  • 3rd Call: The granting of any one wish, regardless of the result of any task (received by Bodie, who ordered pizza)
  • 4th Call: A 60-second shopping spree in the Storage Room (received by Dionne)
  • 5th Call: Being the "pet of the day" (received by Nel)
  • 6th Call: The power to change the second set of nominees (received by Wendy, who retained the set of nominees as is)
  • 7th Call: Automatic nomination (received by Beatriz)
  • 8th Call: A secret date with another housemate (received by Bruce, who chose Wendy to be his date)
  • 9th Call: Playing Sadako of the Japanese movie Ring and living in a well for a day (received by Kian)
  • 10th Call: Walking around blindfolded for a day without any help from the others (received by Gee-Ann)
  • 11th Call: A chance to conquer one's fear (received by Saicy whose fear is snakes)
  • 12th Call: Shaving one's eyebrow (received by Robert, who had his right eyebrow shaved in exchange for an operation on a hare-lipped child)
  • 13th Call: A kiss of Judas—i.e. the recipient of the call kisses a housemate, who in turn gains an automatic nomination (received by Mickey, who kissed Saicy; this is supposedly for Maricris, the only one not to receive a call, but since she was evicted forcibly, Big Brother allowed any of the remaining housemates still inside to pick up the phone, even though they already answered it)

Big Brother Swap

The official website announced on Day 47 (April 12, 2007) that one Philippine housemate would trade places with a housemate from the Slovenian version.[12][13] Days later, Tina[14] was chosen to swap with Bruce.[15]

Promotion ads for this event likened this to an alien abduction because the Philippine housemates were not be aware that Bruce will trade places with Tina, a foreigner, until Tina entered the Philippine House.[16] On the other hand, the Slovenian housemates already knew of the Swap and prepared for this event, which was expected to be a cultural exchange of sorts for both sides. The swap took place starting Day 56 (April 21) and ended on Day 61 (April 26), when the swapped housemates returned to their respective Houses.

Tina Semolic, a 22-year-old former beauty queen, was chosen by the Philippine version's staff because of her personality "would fit well" with the Filipino housemates, as well as being nice and not too aggressive. On the other hand, Bruce was chosen by the Slovenian staff because of his physique and his "very Filipino" characteristics that would stir up competition among the men there.[17]

To let Filipino viewers know about Bruce's situation in the Slovenian House, some footage from the Slovenian version related to Bruce was also shown, aside from the events inside the Philippine House. English conversations recorded on both Houses were subtitled into Filipino, while any Slovenian conversation and comment was dubbed over by Filipino voice actors to let the Filipino viewers understand better.

Below is a list of activities each swapped housemate did in their respective host country's Houses, aside from introductions and trading of basic phrases:

Tina
  • Taught the housemates the Slovenian polka.
  • Cooked a Slovenian dessert called a potica.
  • Learned to properly eat a mango.
  • Learned from Saicy and Wendy how to sing Pinoy Ako and explain its meaning.
  • Told by Nel to eat some Filipino street foods, but she refused to eat balut after squirming at the sight of its contents.
  • Practiced baton twirling together with Beatriz and Saicy.
  • Acted as Reyna Elena in the House's celebration of the Santacruzan, a festival usually held in May.
  • Took part in the PBB Fiesta (see above), even finishing the game of palo sebo for her fellow housemates.
Bruce
  • Cooked adobo for his fellow housemates. The Slovenian housemates thought it was so delicious, even Sonja, the resident vegetarian, ate it, too.
  • Taught the housemates tinikling. But since the others had a hard time keeping the rhythm in the dance, they later turned one of the two bamboo poles used in the dance into a limbo pole.
  • Learned the Slovenian version's theme song, Zelo Naglas ("Out Loud"). That song was originally performed by Nina Osenar, the Slovenian show's host.
  • Built a snowman out of artificial snow (together with his fellow housemates). Real snow could not be provided because winter had already passed in Slovenia.
  • Signed t-shirts for an upcoming auction. Slovenian viewers already knew about his mother's condition and sales from the auction will be used for her benefit.
  • Participated in a task which required the housemates to disguise themselves as animals using body paint. Bruce played a cow.

While Tina left the Philippines without much incident, Bruce left Slovenia with controversy brewing up behind him. Slovenian housemates Miha and Pero made racist remarks about Bruce — remarks that did not sit well with both Big Brother and the viewers there. Because of that and Pero's "plan" of "stabbing Big Brother," Big Brother removed Pero from the Slovenian House[18] and then added Miha to the list of nominees for eviction, which already included Jasmina and Sonja.

Tina was eventually evicted from the Slovenian House about three weeks after the Swap.

Template:FnbThe four secret housemates were put up for eviction because only two people were needed to complete the official housemate roster of fourteen.
Template:FnbAmong the six housemates who were reprimanded by Big Brother because of various violations to house rules, Kian lost the determining game and was therefore automatically nominated. The two additional housemates, Bodie and Maricris, were exempt from the nominations process, while Ezekiel and Dionne were immune from eviction.
Template:FnbKian became immune from nomination due to his win in the special games on Day 28 and his escape from eviction the following night. Beatriz answered the seventh call from the big red telephone, signalling her automatic nomination. Wendy originally used her power of changing the official list of nominees by replacing her name with that of Maricris. But after much reconsideration and a burst of emotion, she asked Big Brother to reverse her decision. Later that night, Big Brother reinstated the original official list of nominees.
Template:FnbThere were no nominations on the day of the announcement of nominees. Big Brother automatically put Gee-Ann, Kian, Bodie, and Dionne up for eviction because of Gee-Ann's breach in the five-pound weight gain rule (see above) and Kian, Bodie, and Dionne's negligence in using their lapel microphones.
Template:FnbBruce was given an exemption on Day 63 from the next nomination round for his accomplishment in the Big Brother Swap. Mickey was also given immunity for winning a special game back in Day 36. Wendy was put up automatically for eviction because of her accidental misuse of her lapel microphone, despite her admission to the mistake she did. On Day 65, even before the fourth nomination round could even take place, Maricris was forced out of the House by Big Brother because of her acts and thoughts of violence against herself and several other housemates. On Day 65, after Maricris left, Mickey kissed Saicy, which signaled her automatic nomination. Because of the number of nominees already up for eviction, only Dionne, the highest earner of nomination votes, was included and not Beatriz, the second highest earner. As a side note, the two names given by Mickey were his first two choices to whom he would give the kiss of Judas.
Template:FnbGeraldine and Yen had just entered the House on Day 70 so they were exempted from nominations. However, only one of them would remain by the next week, and this choice was determined through votes by the other housemates.
Template:FnbWendy and Kian were voted back into the house by public voting. Although Ezekiel and Jasmin were evicted on Day 84, Big Brother allowed them to stay in the main house area for one day. Ezekiel was in the main house area from Day 84 to 85, while Jasmin was in there from Day 85 to 86.
Template:FnbSaicy was nominated for her breach in the weight rule while Gee-Ann was nominated because she admitted to talking while her lapel microphone was accidentally turned off. Kian and Wendy were not yet in the main house area and the other housemates were not yet supposed to know of their presence, so they were not part of the week's nominations. Although technically evicted, Jasmin was present in the House during the announcement of nominees.

Granted Immunity (due to successful execution of "Secret Task", challenge winner, etc.)
Automatic Nomination (due to secret housemate twist, violation(s) committed, "Big Red Telephone" Challenge, etc.)
