In biology, organic evolution is change in the heritable traits of a population over successive generations.

Evolution may also refer to:

  • Evolution (term), the word itself, which may denote a variety of concepts. Most generally, as contrasted with 'development', it is the irreversible accumulation of historically acquired information. Development, in contrast, is made up of predictable directional changes.
