Shahab is a common Persian name shorten for Arabic Shahab-addin شهاب الدین. It can can mean "meteor" or "shooting star" or "king of waters".
It is also the name of a class of Iranian missiles (Service time of 1988-present; four variants) starting with the Shahab-1.
