Ty Tryon
William Augustus "Ty" Tryon IV (born June 2, 1984) is an American professional golfer who was touted as a child prodigy, but is yet to make a major competitive impact in the sport.
Tryon was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. He swings right-handed. He turned professional in 2001 at the age of 16, causing some controversy as it is usual for future American golfers to attend college before turning pro. He was touted as an exceptional talent, but is yet to deliver on that. In 2001, he made the cut at the PGA Tour's Honda Classic, making him the third youngest player ever to make the cut in a PGA Tour event (16 years, 9 months, 7 days). He failed to hold onto PGA Tour status, and has spent time on several other tours. His first professional win came at a NGA Hooters Tour event in February 2005. In 2007 he is playing on the Gateway Tour.
