James Yoshinobu Iha (born March 26, 1968) is a Japanese American rock musician, most famous for founding the alternative rock band Smashing Pumpkins in 1988 with Billy Corgan, D'Arcy Wretzky and Jimmy Chamberlin, while attending Loyola University Chicago.

He currently lives in Manhattan, New York City and owns an independent record label called Scratchie Records.

The Smashing Pumpkins broke up in 2000. Iha has been a member of rock band A Perfect Circle since July 2003.

He has had previous relationships with D'Arcy Wretzky and model and aspiring singer Karen Elson.

Dated Von Bondie's Marcie Bolen for a shortwhile.

Apart from The Smashing Pumpkins, Iha also released a semi-successful solo album entitled Let It Come Down. He has also appeared on recordings with bands Ivy and Fulflej. Iha made his recording debut with A Perfect Circle in November, 2004 on their new album, eMOTIVe.

In August, 2004 Iha also debuted his DJ skills and has completed a remix of the A Perfect Circle song Blue.

In 2003, he formed Vanessa and the O's, but his commitment with A Perfect Circle caused the band to delay recording. They were able to record it as they travelled around the world in hotel rooms and rented apartments, and are now currently preparing to tour parts of Europe.

In June 2005, Corgan announced plans to reunite with the Pumpkins. Iha has yet to contact Corgan to accept or decline.
