Social Text is a postmodern cultural studies journal published by Duke University Press.

It became world famous in 1996, when physicist Alan Sokal revealed that his article, "Transgressing the Boundaries: Toward a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity", which the journal had published, was in fact a hoax.
