As you wish, but it would have been much easier for them to just create a new account, since there are no edits :) -- lucasbfr talk 18:14, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Very true, and I only realised that afterwards... ah well, it'll just get turned away at WP:CHU then I guess. —Alex.Muller 18:15, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
El Farmero (you deleted my 'Kory Bennett' article)
Yeah hi thanks for deleting that I blanked it for a reason...
Kory Bennett is not a very famous man. He's a proffessor. And he does not have any citeable sources. He's just an ordinary person. However, he has a lot of influences on a lot of peoples lives and all of his fellow scholars and students here respect him greatly. So no. He's not a celebrity. He's just a man who helps a lot of people here at the academy achive theor scientific goals. Now you might be thinking, "Make him a myspace and get out of Wikipedia's face" but, no. He's someone who, although not famous, deserves an encyclopedic entry. And wikipedia is the only place that can be accomplished. The freedom of a wiki is so...powerful and has such freedoms that it is the only place where this can be accomplished. So I'm asking you to reconsider. To bend your criteria for 1 page. We all know this guy deserves it.
-El Farmero —Preceding unsigned comment added by El Farmero (talk • contribs) 22:29, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- We can't bend the rules, unfortunately – because there are a couple of people I'd love to write entries for, but they just don't deserve it at the moment. There are a couple of choices: spend some time putting together an article, find sources, and really work on it so it fulfils the notability criteria... or, have a look at Biographicon (ref). Definitely give the latter a go, if only to start an article. And please send me a link to there if you do, I've never looked for one before. Hope this helps —Alex.Muller 22:50, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Okay ummm..he wrote an anthropology thesis for the University of South Florida which is on their website....does that count? For anything? —Preceding unsigned comment added by El Farmero (talk • contribs) 15:27, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Give it a go - there's a page at User:El Farmero/Kory Bennett which nobody will delete unless you replace it with "{{db-user}}". Fill in the blanks and I'll try and have a look or grab some references sometime in the next few days (when I have time). Hope this helps —Alex.Muller 16:13, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Consideration for Boilerplate Deletion
Dear Muller:
We want to bring to you attention the fact that FisherQueen has remove articles defaming “Ron Bongo” and “Ronald Bongo.” Please see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:JRS-SEC
And it does appear that this admin has stopped the perpetrator:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:JRS-SEC, that is the contributor who calls himself JRS-SEC
We are also requesting that you take down http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_SEC_Boiler_Room_Prosecutions. In this case the users are http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Chopped_Lamb or/and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Smarkflea but we believe its the same person as JRS-SEC under different sign-ins.
While the facts in this article are from the SEC proceedings, the context is totally false and misleading. The term “boiler room” has been used to denote shady securities operators for more than fifty years. In that time there have been thousands of arrests and prosecutions but your article makes it seem like the Mr. Bongo is a “mastermind” and a notable historical figure in the world of boiler room prosecutions. Wasn’t Mr. Bongo’s employer more of a mastermind? Weren’t the thousand other boiler room operators who have also ever been prosecuted?
This article was clearly not written to enlighten the public on the state of boiler room prosecutions. It was created wholly and totally to defame Mr. Ron Bongo.
Here is the true story. When Ron Bongo was a young man who got a job at a brokerage firm that was censured by the SEC. Mr. Bongo along with the principals and other salespeople at the firm were convicted of securities fraud and punished. Mr. Bongo paid his debt to society and went on to another field where he has made a success for himself.
But because he has an unusual name, the notice of his conviction remained to ruin his reputation. Many others were mentioned in the very same SEC document (14 names in all) but because their names were more common, their reputation was not affected because the notice in the back page of Google. Mr Bongo hired us to push down the SEC notice.
For some reason, our helping Mr. Bongo so incensed his attacker that he has worked consistently in Wikipedia and elseswhere (he added Mr. Bongos conviction to various social networking sites.) He has even gone so far as to create an article on "Boiler Room Prosecutions" just so he can "star" Mr. Bongo as a ringleader.
This kind of slander does not belong in Wikipedia which is supposed to be an objective encyclopedia. Mr. Bongo was an employee, a salesman who made a mistake. He was not a ringleader and does not deserve to be the focus of an article on "boiler room prosecutions" -- there have been thousands of such prosecutions not mentioned by the attacker in this article. Do you think Mr. Bongo should be singled out and made to pay for the rest of his life just because his attacker thinks he should?
Please do the right thing and remove all references to Ron Bongo or Ronald Bongo including the false linkage to Ron Bongo as kingpin of boiler room prosecutions.
I’m sure you will agree that Wikipedia should not be misused in a way that serves no public benefit and causes personal harm and pain to an individual who paid fully for his crime a decade ago.
If you cannot remove the boiler room article directly, please tell us how we might proceed to use the Wikipedia Articles for Deletion process.
Thank you for you assistance in this matter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.153.87.249 (talk) 21:14, 5 May 2008 (UTC) 205.153.87.249 Jordan G (talk) 21:21, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'll happily nominate the article for deletion on your behalf, with the caveat that I don't endorse the deletion at all and am simply doing it for you. If that's fine with you, post back here to confirm. I'll then give you a link where you must leave your rationale for deleting the article. Other members of the community will then also give their opinion and the outcome will be decided in about five days time. Let me know how you feel about this —Alex.Muller 21:33, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Drafts
Hi Alex,
I have just posted the first paragraph of an article for which I need more time to prepare.
I would like to know if and how I could save the article and work on it before having it published.
If I can't do that, just let me know if the only way is to prepare it outside wikipedia and then input all at once.
Thank you

- First off, you'll need to change your username, or simply register another account. Let me know which you decide and I can help you go about it —Alex.Muller 13:33, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Ummm... thanks for the message on my talkpage, but I had already blocked the account for 48 hours for personal attacks after a report to AIV. If this is a SSP confirmed sock I would agree for an upping to indef, but meanwhile I would AGF and let it provide enough rope for an indef if it does it again. Cheers. - OK, but edits like [1] and [2] are kinda obvious... —Alex.Muller 16:09, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- Apparently these are all socks of User:Random-5000 who's been active the past few days hitting the same pages, especially User:Gwernol and User talk:Gwernol with his stock phrases like 'ghosts eat toast', 'shitter', and others. He makes no effort to hide himself, I guess. Admin User:Oxymoron83 stopped him with a range block a while ago and maybe that has to be considered. RE:Report
He has only made two edts which were reverted. Juthani1 tcs 20:42, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- OK, but he hasn't made any edits in the last year and a half. I can't see any reason at all to block that account, and I suspect I'm not alone... —Alex.Muller 20:45, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Okay, let me lay it on you straight. I created an article that was supposed to be a redirect to Banjo-Kazooie 3. I messed up and now it is up for speedy deletion. I, anfish, the author of this extremely short article wants it to be deleted. In fact I will speedy delete it right now--Anfish (talk) 11:35, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- That's OK, I deleted it for you as a CSD G7, which means the page only had one author who has requested the deletion. Hope this helps —Alex.Muller 12:01, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- (Oh, and by the way...) I used to play the first version of this game on the Nintendo 64. I'm reading through the article now and it's bringing back a whole ton of memories, so thank you. And even watching videos of it —Alex.Muller 12:16, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
IFlewATA.com Deleted
My article, IFlewATA.com has been deleted, and I either would like a copy of it, or I would like to have enough time to change it so that it meets Wikipedia's guidleines. I wasn't trying to advertise IFLewATA.com, but I guess I did glorify it a little bit. Please undo the deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by IFlewATA (talk • contribs) 03:41, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Rfb participation thanks
Hello, Alex.
I wanted to personally thank you for taking part in the project-wide discussions regarding my candidacy for bureaucratship. After bureaucratic discussion, the bureaucrats decided that there was sufficient significant and varied opposition to my candidacy, and thus no consensus to promote. Although personally disappointed, I both understand and respect their decision, especially in light of historical conservatism the project has had when selecting its bureaucrats. If you have any further suggestions or comments as to how you think I could help the project, please let me know. Once again, thank you for your support. -- Avi (talk) 17:16, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
WBOSITG's RfA
Hello Alex. I picked you out at random because I needed the help of an Admin. I created a page for Solar 1. I am having trouble adding images and external links to the page. If you want to know more about the subject, the website is www.solar1.org. It is a facility that houses a non-profit group, Solar One. I created a page for the facility because it is New York City's only self-sustaining (from an energy perspective) solar facility. It is also home to many interesting programs, and is a prototype for a larger building that will be built in the near future. It also sits adjacent to a park which is managed for the city by Solar One and is unique in its own right for several reasons. I would appreciate a few tips on how to make the page more informative and useful. Thank You. -eper1709 Email address removed —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eper1709 (talk • contribs) 15:39, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Alex,
I followed many person's pages before creating this page.
The above page was deleted. Would appreciate your feedback on what is missing and what more information is needed.

RfA: Many thanks | ||
Many thanks for your participation in my recent request for adminship. I am impressed by the amount of thought that goes into people's contribution to the RfA process, and humbled that so many have chosen to trust me with this new responsibility. I step into this new role cautiously, but will do my very best to live up to your kind words and expectations, and to further the project of the encyclopedia. Again, thank you. --jbmurray (talk • contribs) 06:10, 18 May 2008 (UTC) |

Doctor Who - original research
Alex - that whole section is original research - wikipedia doesn't care that it might be true, only that it can sources to reliable 3rd party sources - there is not a single source in the section. So please don't template people you don't agree with. You might disagree about the removal but it doesn't make my action any less good faith in nature. The template you used doesn't even make any sense in the context of the situation because I DID include a "helpful edit summary" - please think more carefully about how you communicate with your fellow editors in future. --87.112.82.25 (talk) 11:32, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
oh and looking at it, you did six edits in the space of two minutes, there is absolutely no chance that you actually considered my edit before reverting and templating me. I suggest you slow down and consider your actions more carefully. --87.112.82.25 (talk) 11:35, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I was using an automated anti-vandalism tool which automatically presents edits depending on how likely they are to be vandalism. There's a couple of issues here:
- You're an IP address, meaning that (strictly speaking in terms of statistics) your edits are more likely to be vandalism. Perhaps consider registering an account.
- You removed incredibly large chunks of text from the article, a "technique" typically used by vandals. Consider making smaller edits at a time.
- The reason you did specify was inside /* */, meaning that it was only an automatic edit summary, and was counted by the tool as not having one. Make sure the edit summary is explicit in future.
- All the best, Alex Muller 12:35, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for fixing that AfD. I had a look at the redirect but, I couldn't be 100% sure I knew what they were trying to say. Jasynnash2 (talk) 13:10, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem — I couldn't see what happened with the redirect either, but just reverted to an earlier version because it was the easiest thing to do :) Alex Muller 13:12, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
