Steven M. Greer (June 28, 1955) is an American physician, ufologist, and conspiracy theorist. Greer is the founder of the Disclosure Project, The Orion Project, and the Advanced Energy Research Organization (AERO) [1]. The latter aims to reproduce claimed free energy devices Greer says were produced in secret government projects by a branch of the Military Industrial Complex or MIC.

Greer's latest endeavor is the formation of The Orion Project (launched in March 2008), a non-profit, 501-C3 entity. The project's stated mission is to inform, educate, and help supply the people of earth with sustainable, non-polluting power.[2] The Orion Project claims to be in the process of identifying and supporting the development of new, clean energy technologies[3].

Greer has appeared on shows such as Larry King Live,[4] CBS, BBC, NTV in Japan, Sightings, Encounters, Coast to Coast AM[5], and the Armstrong Williams radio show. Greer hosts a regularly scheduled radio program (Conversations with Dr. Steven Greer) on the World Puja internet radio network, covering topics such as the development of non-fossil-fuel technologies, meditation and consciousness studies, and the evidence and implications of extraterrestrial contact.[6]

Greer is also a contactee, and coined the term "close encounter of the fifth kind" (a.k.a. CE5) to describe human initiated contact with extraterrestrials.[7] CE5 encounters are "characterized by mutual, bilateral communication rather than unilateral contact."[8]

Greer is frequently invited to give guest presentations and lectures related to the ET/UFO Disclosure effort and other issues, and has shared the podium with notable individuals such as former Canadian Defence Minister Hon. Paul Hellyer[9], Nick Cook, Brian O'Leary[10], and others.

Greer is a former chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, North Carolina, and a lifetime member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.[11] He and his wife Emily have four daughters and reside in the Charlottesville, Virginia area. [11]

Commercial Activities: Ambassador to the Universe & Consciousness Trainings/Expeditions '

In addition to the Disclosure Project, Dr. Greer hosts 'Ambassador to the Universe' week long training sessions at various locations around the United States as part of the Greer founded CSETI organization [12]. Using meditation techniques Greer claims to teach methods that allow attendees to "remote view" locations and times (past and present) develop "cosmic consciousness" and supernatural abilities such as precognition [13]. Also, Greer claims to teach these trainees to "vector in" (i.e. an invitation to manifest their presence, using their newly acquired psychic abilities) extraterrestrials and their "space craft"[14]. Costs for this "training" presently being $995 for those that have not read Dr Greer's books or bought his videos [15].

Attendance requires certain student preparation, including buying and reading Dr Greer's Books [16]. Perhaps surprisingly from the instigator of the Disclosure Project all participants are required to sign a non disclosure/confidentiality agreement [17] As yet CSETI or Dr Greer has been unable to provide any evidence - either photographic or filmed - to support the success of this program [18]

Controversy

Greer frequently claims to have personally briefed high placed officials like ex-CIA director James Woolsey on the subject of UFO's. In his books and lectures, he gives the impression that these individuals have privately confessed to hold very similar views on the UFO issue. Recently, a letter written by Woolsey and others has surfaced, which clearly indicates that at least some parts of Greer's assertions are either false or exaggerations [19][20].

He professes to have abilities to "vector-in" alien spacecraft. In a trainee initiation video called "Practical Applications, Unbounded mind" [21], he makes many outlandish claims within the first 15 minutes of the almost two hour long video. Talking about his CE-5 initiative he says,

If you're out doing this work in some place....after you learn these techniques...you may have one of these orbs come in and hover in the group or just appear enigmatically quickly and vanish...what was it ? and you'll have to then be able to go beyond the crossing point of light with your remote capabilities to see, who it was, what it was, what the message was. And to do that you really have to understand the structure of how space, time, matter in the three dimensional "real" universe as they call it, is interfacing with these increasingly non-local aspects of creation including the so called astral and ethereal, celestial, causal, sound, thought vibration and conscious level. It is all interrelated.....this is where it gets confusing, there's relativity within non-locality. Very important, you can not understand extraterrestrial technologies, transport systems, energy systems without understanding relative non-locality. So we're going to get into these concepts and then we're going to experience it. Maybe we'll vector-in a craft over LAX like at O'Hare...who knows..its happened before.

He also claims to be in close contact with at least two aliens. Talking about his introduction to the second alien who he calls Kindness, he says,

....she (his ex-assistant) introduced me in a lucid dream that night...very lucid dream...out of body...to this extraterrestrial senior ambassador to earth who is...is this too weird ? ...weird...weird...weird...too bad we're gonna get weirder yet. She was uhh...if you can visualize a head that's just like a round pumpkin...no hair...almond shaped eyes with whites...very pretty in her own species way...diminutive features...no pinna...very fine lips.....she exuded the perfect manifestation of kindness and compassion, so I call her Kindness...the first time that we then went out on an expedition, she showed up in a craft...there's this craft which is a beautiful cobalt blue light and it usually shines a blue light on our research group when we're out and then turns and goes out...the essence of this extra-terrestrial being will be then in a field located on an astral hologram...scintillating...beautiful....one of the first things that was in the conversations...this was in 98...the first thing i asked her was that given the collateral damage we had suffered...should we proceed with the disclosure of all this...the level that we were doing this...which involved congress,the white house...hundreds of military guys with top-secret clearances...and this ET, Kindness said, "yes, if you can do it, do it...we need this stuff"....People often ask, "how did you do this 2001 press club ?" I said, "well, there's a lot of cooperation between my own guidance and work, the extraterrestrials and the white house...".


His grand claims of visits into outer space with aliens, usage of scientifically nonsensical jargon as explanations of "alien propulsion technologies" and "free energy" and unsubstantiated "briefings" and meetings with world leaders and intelligence sources have led some observers to call him "UFOlogy's Own Worst Enemy"[22].

The Disclosure Project and Advanced Energy Research Organization (AERO)

Greer's interest in ufology dates to childhood, when he claims he saw a 'disc-shaped craft'. In 1993, Greer founded the Disclosure Project, which claims a wide-ranging conspiracy by a shadowy government in the United States and other nations to cover up the visits by extraterrestrial vehicles and continued monitoring by these extraterrestrial beings, and to suppress unspecified extraterrestrial technologies, including free energy (see free energy suppression).

Greer, along with people from either a military or government background, has given numerous speeches and interviews at ufology conferences and other venues, attempting to muster support for 'free and open' Congressional hearings on UFOs, 'extraterrestrial visitation', and other aspects of the alleged conspiracy. The Disclosure Project has obtained support from various individuals within the so-called 'covert programs' who support Greer's views.

The Orion Project

The Orion Project is part of the free energy suppression movement and claims to be to developing non-polluting and cheap energy generators.[23] Funding for project Orion relies on public donations. As yet no evidence for its success have been produced.

Disclosure Project National Press Conference

This press conference was given in Washington in 2001. Dr. Steven Greer gathered 20+ witnesses to come talk about their experiences and the heavy curtain of secrecy related to the extraterrestrial phenomena.
