GA review of Flag of Kosovo

Other ROC flags

Yes. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 03:09, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for your efforts on the flag of the ROC. I am wondering if you can change the shades of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Standard as well. Thanks.--128.208.37.57 (talk) 22:20, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I thought I did that already, but I guess not. I am not certain if anyone did the Vice President flag yet, let me do it quickly. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 22:21, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I deleted the en.wp copy of the President flag, because it was blocking the version I did. I went ahead and redid the Vice President flag and it is up now. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 22:27, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New straw poll

You are a user who responded to RFC: Use of logos on sports team pages. As someone interested in the discussion a new straw poll has been laid out to see where we currently stand with regards to building a consensus. For the sake of clarity, please indicate your support or opposition (or neutrality) to each section, but leave discussion to the end of each section. — BQZip01 — talk 23:07, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As a user who responded to the straw poll regarding non-free images in sports, your further input is requested with regards to the Straw poll summary and proposed guidelines on image use — BQZip01 — talk 00:33, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As apparent by my talk page, there is some conversation on some images of Japanese prefecture symbols that are claimed as fair use. While the main issue seems to be finding a website that hosts the image, I noticed while looking around I saw File:Symbol of Okinawa Prefecture.svg, the official symbol of the Okinawa Prefecture, which you uploaded. You marked this image as being public domain in Japan, or {{PD-Japan-exempt}}. The issue on my talk page refers to File:PrefSymbol-Saga.png. The image, like the one you uploaded, is the official symbol of the Saga Prefecture, but unlike yours, it is marked as a fair use symbol. Is there any way you could tell me if the symbol of the Saga Prefecture is in the public domain or not, or where you found the information to conclude that it is in the public domain? — Moe ε 00:04, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty much, I took my drawings from official laws. Laws are public domain in Japan, and if we take our drawings from Japanese law, then we can claim it as public domain. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 00:10, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I didn't upload the other image, so I didn't know the website it was originally hosted from, but I knew the Saga Prefecture's government in Japan made it. Thanks for clearing this up. — Moe ε 00:16, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If I use the official construction sheets, that is when I use the PD tag. If I got it from elsewhere, I choose fair use until I find something otherwise. Welcome. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 00:26, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, I am unable to find the construction sheets for the symbol of the Saga Prefecture, like in your image description, so should it remain a fair use image? — Moe ε 00:29, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To be safe, yes. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 00:31, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think the description on File:PrefSymbol-Saga.png is clear enough? — Moe ε 00:47, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 00:57, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are one quiet guy

it's pretty cool that you post audio files nobody can hear --TIB (talk) 07:51, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Threshold AfD

Hiya. The first Threshold AfD has been deleted. I was wondering whether you could say a little more about this? I was wondering because it's being refered to in the second AfD and in several places on the internets, and I imagine things look a little confusing right now. -- Mvuijlst (talk) 15:22, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There was some information there that had to be hidden, and it was requested on the OTRS mail system. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 20:02, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Would it be possible to just hide the information that needs to be hidden and leave the rest, do you think? -- Mvuijlst (talk) 20:09, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I did hide the deletion summary and that is about it that is left. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 20:11, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. I didn't realise it was the deletion summary that had to be hidden... would it be possible to get the discussion back then, and leave the deletion summary as is? -- Mvuijlst (talk) 21:36, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I second Mvuijlst's concerns. A lot went on at this AfD and it might need to be referenced in any future cases involving the article. Themfromspace (talk) 21:43, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Because of the contents raised in the OTRS email, I cannot have the discussion brought back, but I left the deletion summary in the hidden tags <!-- like this --> so that can be read. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 21:59, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
.So just to clarify: every single comment in the entire AfD needed to be deleted? That's weird. -- 78.22.122.80 (talk) 23:37, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 23:46, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What was the OTRS ticket number? Generally it's best to put that in the deletion comment in cases like this. --Stormie (talk) 00:01, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, since you are working on the Gambia

we might as well work on individual articles. I have been trying to get you on GMail today. :-/ miranda 09:44, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I forgot to turn it back on. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 09:45, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Coat_of_arms_of_Yukon.svg

Hi Zach, Source of File:Coat_of_arms_of_Yukon.svg is busted. See: http://www.openclipart.org/cgi-bin/navigate/signs_and_symbols/flags/america/canada

Searches for “Yukon“ and “Yukon coat of arms" at: http://openclipart.org/media/search/results only returned a user named "Yukon."

I am a little touchy on images, because of what happened to my first upload, so I do not know if I am being bold or obsessive — can something like this just be ignored?

Or is nothing ignored at Wikipedia?

Thanks, Mitch3000 06:05, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What happened was that the coat of arms image that you displayed now, it was taken from the SVG image of the Yukon flag. I swore I made that clear in the image summary. As for what happened with the first image, if a Free Image is replacing an image under fair use, then we have to replace it and put the fair use image up for deletion.
