Contra ReBirth is a 2D run and gun video game developed by M2 and published by Konami for WiiWare. It is the twelfth original installment in the Contra series.[1] It was released in Japan on May 12, 2009 for 1000 Nintendo Points.[2] There is no information on a North American or European release.[3]
Overview
The game features the characters of recurring Contra hero Bill Rizer and the humanoid alien samurai Genbei Yagyu from Neo Contra, and involves the two heroes fighting off a new alien invasion.[4]
Contra ReBirth features a return to the 16-bit style graphics in its gameplay (like the previous Contra 4 did before), as well as remixes of music and tunes from the different games in the Contra series.[4] The game also features two-player cooperative gameplay.[5]
