Loft is a variant of a wireframe of the 3D object, a technique used in 3D modeling packages such as 3D Studio Max and SolidWorks. It's derivable from flat section by doubling it along the path given.

In comparable 3D CAD software similar techniques may be called Sweep or Variable Section Sweep (Pro/ENGINEER).
