Ownership of articles
Since no one "owns" any part of any article, if you create or edit an article, you should not sign (~~~~) it. On the other hand, when adding comments, questions, or votes to back end pages, like "Talk" pages, it is good to "own" your text, so the best practice is to sign it. For more editing "do"s and "don't"s, you might want to go through the brief Tutorial. At least with existing pages, you can get an idea of where it's appropriate to add your signature by noting what previous contributors have done. (from Don't sign what you don't own)
Your contributions are appreciated. Happy editing. NickelShoe 16:12, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
Image:ALAN ROBSON METRO.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:ALAN ROBSON METRO.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The JPStalk to me 15:55, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:Davidbb.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Davidbb.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Your comments about Deva Victrix
I have replied to your comments. If the external site can be linked with a relevant and justified section within the article, I would find no problem in it being included.
With respect to your comment about a "threat" being made by my issuing a warning to an IP user. Your comments were quite unhelpful. The user concerned did add the external link I claimed was a commercial one, but then, after I had removed it, removed a site on the grounds that it, too, was commercial when it clearly was not. This is a clear-cut case of disruption, as far as I can see, as the correct way of procedding would have been to open discussions, as you did. hence the immediate warning was justified. Your VandalProof Application
Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Melonite. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that:
You do not yet have enough edits in the main namespace.
Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. Ale_Jrbtalk 17:34, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Davidbb.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Davidbb.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Strangerer (Talk) 11:35, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Unspecified source for Image:Davidbb.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Davidbb.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:35, 30 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 09:35, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Changdao Islands
Thanks for adding characters to the Changdao Islands article. However, characters are only necessary for the title, unless they serve a disambiguation function. Normally, where another article is linked, such as Penglai City, characters are unnecessary as that article will have characters in its own lead sentence. Please be careful when adding characters that you use () and not [], otherwise you produce redlinks. --Bejnar 00:29, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Quayside. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution.
Image copyright problem with File:Jamescorden500.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Jamescorden500.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Fair use rationale for File:Pmn logo.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Pmn logo.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 22:33, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
CSD nomination of PimpMyNumber
A tag has been placed on PimpMyNumber requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding
{{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Kbrose (talk) 20:35, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Kbrose you need to be more factual and provide cogent evidence when making your ridiculous claims. What appears to me is you have had a disagreement over an article in the past, you have then viewed my history "to see what else i'm involved with" which is nothing but childish acts. I find it quite concerning you have so much free time available to enable you to do this. However I am willing to put this episode behind and move forward. Established users much like both of ourselves can be using our energy much more constructive. //Melonite (talk) 22:01, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- I need to warn you both about WP:NPA. Discuss the articles, not each other. DGG (talk) 23:31, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
History of the American Hamburger Restaurant page
This page only carries over content as it relates to the American restaurants listed in origins. Thi is not an exact copy of the entire hamburger page, the content will be focused only on American hamburger restaurants not the global history or differences of hamburgers ingredients, cooking methods, etc.Tomticker5 (talk) 13:30, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- Would you agree that wikipedia needs a page dedicated to the U.S. origins of the hamburger and the restaurant?Tomticker5 (talk) 14:51, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- I have answered the question you asked on your talkpage. //Melonite (talk) 15:33, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Thomas The Conquerer & The Mighty 4
First off, you didn't say where the story came from; secondly, there are/were no sources cited. There is no logical reason to think otherwise. --mhking (talk) 19:46, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- I know. Don't take it so serious. //Melonite (talk) 21:30, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Gregory Alan Williams
I put in the IMDB page for the actor on the external links all the info on that page can be found there. Hopefully you can remove the citation. I'm sure if you see his picture you will recognize him and like me feel that he has had a noticeable enough career to have a wikipedia page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by King Cobb (talk • contribs) 22:30, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Deletions
Tell me, do you even bother doing a google search to see that this is a notable Mayan archaeologcial museum and performing arts theatre? Dr. Blofeld White cat 22:34, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- You ask, so I tell you. Yes in fact I did and do on all that I am unsure of, it is not something I take lightly when placing tags on an article concerning the deletion, but if the contributor can't even bother to add a simple reference and cite the source then is the article actually notable? //Melonite (talk) 22:39, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
The same editor who "can't be bothered" to create 60 articles on each of the Central American countries and is uploading many images to the commons to make the first step in expanding our lacking coverage of buildings in this region? The fact that it is a performaing arts theatre, archaeological museum, political conference centre etc was enough to assert notability. Dr. Blofeld White cat 22:43, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry Blofeld, what is the point you are trying to make here? I don't find your comments useful or helpful either, if you have something helpful to add I am more than happy to listen. But at the time I looked at the article in question (or any article for that matter) the article was not notable or cited any references. //Melonite (talk) 22:48, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Articles for deletion nomination of PimpMyNumber
I have nominated PimpMyNumber, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PimpMyNumber. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Verbal chat 16:52, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Regarding your suggestion to merge Sahmyook Foods into the Seventh-day Adventist Church article and it being not up to Wikipedia's notability requirements, Sahmyook Foods is one of the largest health food producers in the entire South Korea. Its product are exported to countries all over Asia and it has a market share of over 25% in health foods. I will remove the templates from Sahmyook Foods as it is of sufficient notability and can not be merged into the church's article as it is not related to its content.

Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' You may need to go to "Preferences"...clicking the "Editing" tab, and uncheck "Mark all edits minor by default" Thank you. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:43, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Melonite (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
For what reasons exactly is my account blocked, you have gave the reason Abusing multiple accounts. The Sockpuppet Investigation shows Melonite is confirmed, it is expected, as it is my account, another user HobbieIP is Possible (which means what? I have no knowledge of this user.) another user BigDaveo was Inconclusive it was a user I welcomed some time ago, and another user Leiflemke was Unrelated. Which multiple accounts have I abused?
Decline reason:
checkuser evidence is clear, and denial thereof is pointless. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 14:22, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Checkuser report confirmed that Melonite is HobbieIP. The "possible" is whether or not Melonite is Smiley. Anyway, we've proven this user is a liar; enough of these games. Tan | 39 14:01, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- User is a liar? Which games is it you are referring to? - Is it correct policy that the administrator who blocked an account be the one to review the block, is it also right for an administrator to call a user a liar without any factual evidence, what evidence is Melonite & HobbieIP is the same? Melonite 14:05, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't review the block, I merely commented below your request. The CU page you linked to above in your unblock request shows that it is confirmed that you are user HobbieIP. You are abusing mulitple accounts, all the while shouting righteously that you are innocent. Goodbye. Tan | 39 14:07, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
