Ah lian is a term commonly given to a certain group of young Chinese girls in Southeast Asia, namely Singapore and Malaysia. These chinese girls, whose age ranging from their early teens to late 20s, usually centralize in the busier and more developed cities in the region.

Ah Lian Fashion

The Ah Lian would be the female version of an Ah Beng. They are something like the Asian version of a Bimbo. They wear a lot of branded stuff (mostly fake) and the label must be prominently displayed along with the latest mobile phone with trendy covers. Huge platform shoes are requirements together with blonde/red/blue streaks in the hair.

Ah Lians like to dress in immensely lurid colours. Their fashion can be said to be a mix and match of every deplorable trend. Short tight denim skirts with paint and nonsensical labels, paired with small revealing tops and poor quality tattoos are favourites among them.

Ah Lian habits

Ah Lians are most likely to be found accompanying their male counterparts in cybercafes, malls, and nightclubs.

Ah Lian music

Like Ah Bengs, the Ah Lian love techno, dance, trance and whatever sort of music that tops the charts. They can be seen on the streets shaking their fists to the beat of the thumping bass from the big boom box which takes up space in their car boots.

Ah Lian jobs

Most Ah Lians work in the retail line, selling things like clothes to mobile phones. Rarely does an Ah Lian work in a multinational company.

Ah Lian language

Singlish and Manglish are popular slangs that they adopt. Foul words are also regularly uttered during their conversations.

Ah Beng

The male counterpart of the Ah Lian is commonly referred to as Ah Beng. An Ah Beng can be spotted with a car load of Ah Lians on a good night out. Their destination is almost always a disco or karaoke.
