Jiří Liška (12. May 1949, Havlíčkův Brod) is a Czech statesman and veterinarian. As of 2009, he is the vice-chairman of the Czech Senate.

Personal life

Liška graduated from veterinary school in Brno in 1974.

During the Velvet Revolution, he worked as veterinarian in Prague, Tábor and Jičín. In the year 1990 stated temporarily chairman town collection in Jičín. In the year 1992, already like member ODS, geted in to the Federal Assembly of Czechoslovakia that the rise new Czech of the state at the beginning year 1993 died.

In years 1994- 2002 then reacted in office chief magistrate Jičín. Presently be part of narrow circle senators that the serves in Senate of the Czech Republic, already since its rise. For the first time was to the upper house parliament elect in the year 1996, re - elected in years 1998 and 2004 behind election district No. 37 - Jičín. Reacted here e.g. like chairman club ODS and at present hold an appointment vicechairman senate.

Jiří Liška is married, has wife Zuzana and two sons Petr and Jan.
