he's either born 1970 or 1969
I've checked several sources, and they all report 1969 as his birth year. --lightdarkness (talk) 05:57, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Born where?
IMDb list him as being born in Long Beach, California. So do Yahoo and MTV]. Wikipedia says Clarksdale, Mississippi. I assume Wikipedia is wrong, so I changed it. In case anyone has info that Wikipedia is right, change it again but please add a source :) -- Sander 10:07, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Albums
Yahoo! lists a lot more albums for him. This should be updated by someone who knows. BryanAtkinson 02:10, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- OK, here is the list of albums Yahoo currently holds with my clarification of each included in square brackets:
- Nate Dogg & Friends — [A collection of Nate Dogg guest appearences and singles created in and for Europe]
- Nate Dogg & Friends, Vol. 2 — [As above]
- Music & Me — [Official album]
- "Nobody Does It Better" — [Single]
- "Get Up" — [Single]
- Ghetto Preacher — [Official album: Repackaged version of G-Funk Classics Vol. 1]
- The Prodigal Son — [Official album: Repackaged version of G-Funk Classics Vol. 2]
- "Regulate" — [Single]
- G-Funk Classics, Vol. 1 & 2 — [Official album: The first widely available Nate Dogg album]
- G-Funk Classics Vol. 1 saw an extremely limited release in '96 or '97 before Vol. 1 & 2 finally came out in a package (Vol. 2 never having been released by itself). A while later the two volumes were renamed into Ghetto Preacher and The Prodigal Son respectively. – Quoth 03:47, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Guest appearances
Congrats to whoever created this list. Lajbi Holla @ meWho's the boss? 19:17, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Citing source material will solve disagreements over dates, etc.
This article needs to cite its sources per WP:V and WP:CITE. Thanks! Mattisse(talk) 22:37, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Do you need long list of personal appearances that can't be verified?
Doesn't it just make the article ugly, instead of concentrating on the creative work he is doing? Mattisse(talk) 02:29, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- Concentrate on the work he has done:[1], [2], [3] plus the footnotes in the article note more. Mattisse(talk) 02:36, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- Guest appearances are the essence of Nate Dogg. He had no successful albums (and some of them are of the same tracklist as you can see above in the discussion) but had very successful cameos. And allmusic.com is really a bad source for this. BTW this is the only complete list of songs I found on the internet. Lajbi Holla @ me 10:20, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- Is there some way you can verify that? WP:V is a non negotiable requirement of Wikipedia, so if you could find some unbiased, reliable, third party sources stating that, it could remain. Otherwise, per Wikipedia rules, any editor can remove material that is unsourced. I realize allmusic is not a good source for Nate Dogg, but at least it is something. And the fact that he is credited with contributing to over sixty chart singles is certainly significant.[4] But the undocumented stuff detracts from his importance for the general reader, and Wikipedia articles are supposed to be for the general reader. Instead the article tends to look like a POV fanzine site rather than an encyclopedia article. Mattisse(talk) 13:01, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- A simple alphabetical order list doesn't make the page a fanzine. And there is a link to it already at the header, but I'll add one more. Lajbi Holla @ me 16:00, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
- Template:Cite web doesn't work in case of allmusic.com. Please do not use it. Lajbi Holla @ me 05:48, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Damn, the only reason I searched for Nate Dogg was to see a list of all the songs he was featured in. Poor decision to erase it - Phil Escobedo from Los Angeles, CA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.198.138.234 (talk) 00:39, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

What is Levi? It's plastered all over this article. 67.170.155.43 23:40, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Reliable sources for USMC note?
Initially, I marked with {{fact}} the sentence on Nate Dogg's Marine Corps service. However, in keeping with BLP, I'm removing it until it can be reliably sourced. — ERcheck (talk) 21:14, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Genre
Who on earth believes he is an R&B singer? He is a rapper just being doing what rnb singers do usually while appearing on other rappers songs.--Flesh-n-Bone 18:34, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- He's R&B. --Josh1billion (talk) 23:00, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- He isn't. His lyrics, style and that aren't R&B. He's a hip hop singer. Not a rapper and not R&B/Pop. --Flesh-n-Bone 20:05, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Fake Death Reports
I removed the death reports and links to the website that announced his fake death. Neither merits notation. MikeonTV 16:01, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Missing Things
I Think that the article should be updated man, it stops in january 2008, put more information about his progress in his stroke recovering, also add a picture of him, I mean, is adding a picture of a dude so difficult? well, thanks for your attention, byebye--Josecarlos1991 (talk) 01:43, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Stroke
Long Beach, California singer Nate Dogg, who had a stroke last last December, has unfortunately had another stroke yesterday. (9-17-08)
The 39 year-old was left paralyzed from that stroke and reports say that this one is even more serious.
Can someone add something about Warren G getting interviewed and mentioning many important facts about his health, future albums and later plans. Interview here: http://www.rapbasement.com/wu-tang/082109-warren-g-talks-about-how-nate-dogg-is-doing-plus-new-music.html
Good info right there, so add it in please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.47.243.10 (talk) 05:34, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Criminal record
Shouldn't there be a criminal record segment. He's been in trouble with the law a lot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.74.112.232 (talk) 14:39, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Picture
Can we find a better picture than a ?mugshot? This guy is more known for music than troubles with the law. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.118.119.42 (talk) 05:22, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
That is not Nate Dogg with Lamar Odom, Nate is stable unable to stand up and most likely will nevr be able to —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.137.165.216 (talk) 07:57, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
I agree, it is declassé to use a mug-shot as his photo. 99.141.61.105 (talk) 16:20, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. I'm neither a fan nor detractor of Nate's work, but the image lends a rather negative bias and makes the Wiki community look like it's trying to paint a distinctly negative picture. 110.174.91.113 (talk) 17:31, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
All Dates Wrong in the First Para
What the dates are all wrong in this article? Dre heard him for the first time in 2001?? WTF then how come he is in his album 2001?? Is this wikipedia entry written by Game after waking up from his comma? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.164.240.150 (talk) 17:24, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
