Wrong Title
As the JDF is the Jamaica Defence Force not the Jamaican Defence Force perhaps we should move this article to the correct title ? MilborneOne 19:19, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Yes. I have moved the article to 'Jamaica Defence Force'. Lordvaluemart 23:57, 05 November 2006 (UTC)
How Big?
How many men in the JDF? This article should say. 80.178.87.27 20:09, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
The Government of Jamaica does not publish this information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Edison9114 (talk • contribs) 03:35, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Combat aircraft
Are there any fighter/bomber jets in the JDF? It seems odd that a country like Jamaica would not have a form of fighter, bomber, or fighter/bomber aircraft. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.205.70.254 (talk) 09:02, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- No, and to my knowledge they never have. THey don't operate any jet aircraft of any kind, though there are turbine-powered aircraft (turboprops and helicopters) in service. As to why not, I can guess several related reasons, but I really don't know. - BillCJ (talk) 09:14, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Special Forces
Does the JDF as a Special Forces Unit? OR capable —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.207.114.20 (talk) 02:21, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- According to [1] the CTOG was trained by Canadians. According to [2] they were advised during the CanJet 918 hijacking by the FBI 76.66.196.218 (talk) 16:01, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Ferret scout vehicle?
I found some references pointing to the fact that the Jamaican military uses the Ferret. However most sources don't mention this. Therefore I didn't add it to the equipment table. Could anyone confirm this? (Wilhelm Klave (talk) 13:42, 3 September 2009 (UTC))

I have noticed that the Commander-in-Chief of the Jamaican Defence Force has been left out and I wanted to suggest that it be added within the Leadership. The present Commander-in-Chief of the Jamaican Defence Force is Queen Elizabeth II with Governor-General Patrick Allen as her representative.
