Jim Bartley is an irish actor best known for his part as Bela Doyle in the irish soap opera Fair City, a part he has had since the start of the show in 1989.
He has suffered much tragedy as he became a widower in the early nineties and his son also tragically died. Currently he lives with his partener Helen Cahill in Tallaght County dublin. He has a daughter who is also an actress.
His other television credits include Fatal Inheritance, The Bill, Joyriders, Taffin, The Fantasist, Inside, The Irish R.M., Teems of Times, Coronation Street, Underground, Ulysses and Z Cars.
He has also had movie roles in War of the Buttons, M.A.N.: Matrix Adjusted Normal, Teresas Wedding and The Pink Panther Strikes Again.
In recent years he has taken regular breaks from acting due to him having strokes.
