OluRotimi Akinosho (born November 30, 1988), better known by his stage name, Rotimi. He is a Singer-Songwriter, Actor & Model. He currently stars as Darius Morrison on the Starz Network original drama series "Boss". Rotimi is also the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of FrontRoSeat Productions.

Early life and education

Rotimi was born on November 30, 1988, in Maplewood, New Jersey to Nigerian parents. He was raised in New Jersey. Rotimi attended Columbia Senior High School before studying at Northwestern University,[1] graduating with Communications a minor in Business in 2010.

Career

Acting

Rotimi is known for his work on the STARZ Network show "Boss" as character Darius Morrision [2] with Kelsey Grammer,Connie Nielsen, Martin_Donovan, Kathleen_Robertson, Hannah Ware, Jeff Hephner T.I. and Sanna Lathan. Rotimi also appeared on the CBS pilot episode, “Cooper & Stone.”(2011).

Rotimi made a guest appearance on the season finale of VH1's T.I. & Tiny The Family Hustle reality show.

Music

A contemporary R&B artist, Rotimi released two stellar digital mixtapes The Resume March 8th, 2011 and While You Wait on November 30, 2011 to incredible downloads and accolades. His videos have been featured on international and U.S. based entertainment media including MTV,VH1 Soul and MTV Africa.

Rotimi is no stranger to the stage as he has also opened up for Jennifer Hudson, T.I.,Estelle and NERD – as well as, performed on BET’s [3] hit show 106 and Park which after televising he became a Twitter Worldwide Trending Topic, May 25, 2011.

Rotimi garnered music placement with “I’m the One” first episode of the STARZ Network Television show “Boss”, October 21, 2011. Also “Roller Coaster”, ”Boss” and “Bottles” music placement on the show, “We The Party” (Directed by Mario Van Peebles).

Fashion

Rotimi named the lead model/spokesperson of Grammy-‐award Winning rapper T.I.’s AKOO Clothing [4] 2012 Spring/Summer campaign, April 2, 2012.
