Alvar (Template:Lang-hy; formerly, Duzkend, Template:Lang-az) is a village and rural community (municipality) in the Shirak Province of Armenia.

The community of Alvar consists of the villages of Alvar and Aravet. The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia (ARMSTAT) reported the community's population was 168 in 2010,[1] up from 147 at the 2001 census.[2] The village's population was 147 at the 2001 census.[2]

Population

According to "Caucasian Calendar" of 1912, 591 people, mainly Azerbaijanis shown in the calendar as «Karapapaks», lived in village Duzkend of Kars Okrug of Kars Oblast.[3]
