Hello, I'm Oddbodz. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made with this edit to Aidan Turner, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Oddbodz - (Talk) (Contribs) 17:05, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Aidan Turner with this edit, you may be blocked from editing. Oddbodz - (Talk) (Contribs) 17:21, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
I don't know whether it's the fact that I'm ill but I've got no idea what anybody is talking about. I've not edited any articles in ages other than to change a photo on some random cyclist's page after it didn't actually show the cyclist in question. I'm sure you'll sort it out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.132.142.53 (talk) 17:28, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

I didn't edit the article about Aidan Turner. I don't really understand the point of asking vandals not to vandalise. Are they really going to stop because you asked nicely? Are you not just giving them what they want? (i.e. attention). Also, quite often, the message ends up going to the wrong person (as it has done this time). It would seem easier to just revert the edit and leave it at that. I think there are a lot of people on wiki who really enjoy the power trip of telling others what to do and awarding themselves special awards and such like. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.195.109.225 (talk) 17:24, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Heh, yeah, I got sent this too. Looks like we got a bug. --82.45.56.133 (talk) 17:27, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
So did I - what is going on here !
Me too...
I think this Ipv6 address is allocated through Teredo, and therefore lots of users share this address.
I got "4 new messages" regarding edits too, I have never edited any page before on Wiki so definitely a bug, I was browsing wiki for some time with this IP (94.0.237.152) and it only appeared just now, so might not be related to shared IP's but a more general bug? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.0.237.152 (talk) 17:36, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
And me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.30.102.227 (talk) 17:31, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
I somehow got sent this message despite not having a Wikipedia account, what the heck? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:630:53:F0:48DC:212D:D67B:E2F (talk) 17:33, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Yeah what the hell, haven't touched this article
I got 6 messages about this, despite the fact that I have not edited that article AND it is not my IP.

Hi, I just got two messages, which I assume is this conversation (I'm a different person from the one replying first). I have no interest in editing Wikipedia, as I am a passive user, not an active one (just coming here for information), and I have never edited a single article. So I assume you're approaching this situation in a wrong way, as IP addresses can change/be shared (as stated at the bottom of this talk page), and you're unlikely to block the right person. I will be going to your talk page, too. 62.245.69.24 (talk) 17:31, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
me also
i also got it, wierd... probably a bug--85.64.91.172 (talk) 17:35, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

How dare you accuse me of editing these pages. I have no idea who this 'hot midget' is, and my sexual orientation declares that I wouldn't make such an edit. You silly man.

I seem to be the 4th(?) person getting this message. Never edited wikipedia, no clue who Aidan Turner is (link was blue). Is someone using our/my for disruptive changes?

As bugs go, this is pretty funny. I have absolutely no idea who Aidan Turner is though.

I didn't even log on and it says I have six messages about vandalizing a page I've never been to. This has got to be a bug, right...? 150.244.199.38 (talk) 17:40, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

This is my first edit, I have no idea who Aidan Turner is, nor have I edited his page. Why the hell am I getting this message.
I too got the link to this site, claiming that it was my user discussion. The IP given seems to belong to a Wikimedia Server, it is definately not mine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.170.229.160 (talk) 17:44, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
It's "definitely".62.245.69.24 (talk) 17:47, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
What's going on?
It looks like as I was peacefully browsing wikipedia I received a message driving me to this page. My IP has -for some reason- changed into this one, which was used for vandalism. I really don't know what's going on. I'd like to say sorry on behalf of its former operator.--176.58.248.185 (talk) 17:50, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Agree with poster who suggested ipv6 issues
Awww I thought I had new friends when I saw 3 new messages..
Never edited Wikipedia, so not me who did (insert bad thing... sorry I dont know the rules)
My ISP doesn't allocate ipv6 addresses, so the teredo suggestion further up makes sense.
I do, however, feel special as I do know who Aidan Turner is :)

Hello fellas.
No idea whats going on. Looking up some crap about scientology. Got messages saying I'm editing stuff. Completeley wiki illiterate and technophobic too so I'm sure its just a bug.
Keep up the good work anyway lads, You do a great job :)
Hello?
???
Huggle?
Oddbodz suggested, that Huggle was somehow involve with this. This IP has made several edits today, most of them beeing Vandalism reverts. Is there a possibility, that Huggle acts via this IP? --193.170.229.160 (talk) 17:55, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Reply to Oddbodz
I think you need to stop warning people about their vandalism until you've stopped using Huggle. I reckon there comes a time when whatever good you've done gets heavily outweighed by the amount of people you anger with these false positives.

Count me in as another one under the effects of this bizzare glitch. I'd love to know what's causing this, this is the strangest thing I've ever seen in my 5+ years of using Wikipedia. Live in Bolton, England. 86.166.185.181 (talk) 17:54, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Something something, wrong IPs...
Do I get to enter the club?
2 warnings
I also had 2 warnings when browsing for some reason, they were about Aidan Turner's Wikipedia page (no idea who that is). I wasn't even logged in. I hope I'm doing this correctly, I have no idea how to write replies on Wikipedia as this is the first time I've attempted to do that. EDIT: I live in Sweden, by the way... :S AylaCatpaw (talk) 17:54, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

This is your last warning. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Back to the Future. — MusikAnimal talk 17:58, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Yo why would you block me mate, I didn't even touch that back to the future page, 213.114.250.140 (talk) 18:00, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Warnings
Please stop sending me all these warning messages. I haven't edited anything on Wikipedia today and am sick and tired of receiving warning messages everytime I access a new page. I've had 8 messages now and none of these have anything to do with me.
Erm?
I have no idea what this is about... I didn't even have an account, I only made one now so I could say I got this weird message.

Oh my god
I'm sorry but I think I might be the source of all this trouble, because I write in my sleep and then I forget all about it, I don't even know who Aidan Turner, seems like I'm living a 2nd life without even realizing it!??
What?
I'm confused.

Apparently the problem extends at least as far south as Greece. I use my account to edit, but I was just browsing when a most unexpected orange bar announced to me that I had new messages from 10 users. My regular talk page had never been that popular! 46.176.142.183 (talk) 18:04, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Hey
Also got a notification saying I got 10 new messages. I have not edited a wiki page in years... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.66.124.209 (talk) 18:11, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Update from Oddbodz
I have posted the bug at Bugzilla - Wikimedia's bug reporting software. It can be found here Oddbodz - (Talk) (Contribs) 18:13, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
