The legality of anabolic steroids varies from country to country. Some with more restrictive laws than others.
By country
United States
In the United States, all Anabolic Steroids are illegal without the use and consent of medical prescription. This was determined by the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 1990 which added Anabolic Steroids to the Schedule III drug list.[1]
Canada
In Canada, steroids are legal but are Schedule IV drugs, which means there are some exceptions and punishments are less severe.
Mexico
In Mexico, there is no specification in the law for steroid use, thus making them illegal. This has also made Mexico a drug trafficking hotspot.[2]
Iraq
Anabolic steroids are illegal in Iraq since the U.S. invasion.[3]
