Canada's Top 20 Countdown is a Canadian weekly syndicated radio chart program based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The countdown began in September 2009 and is owned and produced by Positive Number Productions.

The Countdown

The program is available to stations in three formats: CHR/Hot AC, Rock and Country music. Each program runs two hours in duration, and they count down the 20 biggest songs from coast to coast in their respective genres. The program is syndicated to stations throughout Canada, as well as on Air Canada flights world-wide and on Canadian Forces Radio.[1] A variation of the show, Canada's Top 20 Skate, is also heard at hockey arenas throughout Canada.

In 2010, Positive Number Productions rolled out a rock version of the countdown and also added a country version.[2]

The CHR/Hot AC and Rock version of Canada’s Top 20 are hosted by A. J. Reynolds. The country version is hosted by Julia Kilbride.[3] Other personalities featured in the program include Ed the Sock[4] and Floyd Blaikie.

Commitment to Canadian Content

Canada’s Top 20 has interviewed over 350 Canadian musical artists in its Canadian Artist of the Week segment. The countdown maintains a minimum of 40% Canadian Content and prides itself on its commitment to up and coming Canadian artists by featuring an unsigned, independent artist on its show monthly.
