Other information | There is no charge for the early joggers till 8 AM. It is open till 10 PM. It remains open on all day except on Thursday. After 8 AM, a visitor has to buy a ticket at nominal price of ₹10. |
Eco Park, also known as Rajdhani Vatika is a park located in the Punaichak at Strand Road in Patna, Bihar. This park was inaugurated in October 2011 by hon'ble Chief Minister, Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar. This is an initiative of Department of Environment and Forest, Government of Bihar. The lush green campus has 1445 metres of pathway, a children's corner and 1191 metre jogging track. It has been developed as to ease the load of Patna Zoo.[1][2] It is spread over 9.18 hectares of land and having a lake. Around 90,000 to one lakh people come here every month. This park has the facilities of Boating. The average daily putfall between 3000-5000 on normal days. Sundays and special days attract more crowd (6000 to 9000). The park got maximum number of tourists on 1st Jan 2014 which were 42350. The Park is home to more than 3,000 varieties of plants.[3]
Overview
The park is full of sprawling lush green area and has two large sections, Section one have children corner, Food Court, Fountains. And Second part has theme parks like Rashi Van, Guru Vatika, Panchwati and Kewli Van.[4] In the first section, there is open space for walking and kids for playing with beautiful surroundings. Meanwhile, there are see saws and other playing stuff for kids. Beside, this park is endoved with sculptures of famous artists... Cactus by Subodh Gupta is one of them..
In the second section of Eco Park, there exists a lake where people of all age groups can go for a boat ride. There is latest machinery for exercising as well. For tourists, there is a restaurant wherein one can order food and soft drinks. Both the sections in Eco Park are interconnected through an underground tunnel. The entry fee for adults Rs 10 and for kids Rs 5.
