Marie Avgeropoulos (born 17 June 1986) is a Greek-Canadian actress and model best known for her roles as Kirstie in the television series Cult and Kim Rhodes in Hunt to Kill. In 2014, she currently stars in the television series The 100 as Octavia Blake.[1][2]
Early life
Avgeropoulos was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. When Marie was she spent more of her free time outdoors: fishing, hunting and camping alongside the fire. Her dream was to became an action heroine.
Career
After studying Broadcast Journalism for 2 years in her hometown, Marie decided to move to Europe. After several months she came back to Canada and moves in Vancouver. Marie was playing drums since she was 16 and on of her friends invited her in the casting call in Vancouver which happened to be looking for drummers. An agent recognized her and she was invited to appear in various national commercials. Director Chris Columbus recognized Marie too and hired her first feature role for I Love You, Beth Cooper. After that Marie was invited to feature in several movies and TV shows.
In 2010 actress got a role of Kim Rhodes in Hunt To Kill. It was her break-out role. After that Marie featured Golden Globe nominated movie 50/50 in 2011.
In 2013 Marie made her break-out in television when she got a recurring role in CW's Cult.However the series failed and CW stopped airing it after episode 7 (in the summer series was finished to show). After that CW casted her as one of the main characters in their new show The 100. The character of Octavia Blake in this show became her most successful role. Recently Marie is on the set of season two.
In the same year Marie was also casted as Nikki in the upcoming film Tracers where she is taking a lead with her boyfriend Taylor Lautner.
Personal life
Marie was dating her costar Shawn Roberts. Actors met in 2009 while filming I Love You, Beth Cooper. In 2013 she met Taylor Lautner in the set of the upcoming movie Tracers. After a month they became a couple and are dating until now.
