As the Scouting WikiProject has been formed since early January 2006, we've had many great improvements made in this area of Wiki and I want to personally thank everyone for their help. We don't always agree on things, but we keep moving forward. YIS, Rlevse22:09, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Note From Wootking
I enjoy using wikipedia very much, and every project I do has Wikipedia at the top of the bibliography. Thank you for the warm welcome, Johntex, it makes me feel appreciated.

Queen WikiProject
Thank you for joining the Queen WikiProject, We hope to get this project up after Queen (band) becomes a featured article, Sorry it took so long. If you have any questions you can leave them on the QueenWikiproject talk page. - Mtmtmt17:37, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
¿Qué onda carnal? I see you have added your name to the list of participants of WikiProject Mexican-Americans/Chicanos. Let me be the first to say "¡Bienvenido!" Feel free to add articles you begin to the list of articles covered by the project, or to begin any of the red-linked articles in the tasks section. If you have any questions or just want to chat, ask away on the project talkpage or hit me on my talkpage. Some areas in which we are currently deficient are women's history and other women's issues, Pre-Chicano Movement history, and topics from outside of California. If you can help in any of these areas, it would be greatly appreciated.
We have also set ourselves the long-term goal of raising the Chicano Movement article to featured status, if that topic is of interest to you.
I notice that you are a fairly new user. Here is one small tip: You may want to consider moving your userboxes to your userpage and reserving your talkpage for interactions with other members of the community. You are free to do as you please with your own pages, but mixing userpage and talkpage content is generally discouraged.
I look forward to seeing yur contributions to the project. We have a special barnstar for project members, if it is any incentive. Thanks for your interest and your contributions to the 'pedia, --Rockero22:58, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi thank you for joining the WikiProject. There is still plenty of scope for influencing
things and making your contribution count. We are about establishing standards
for the various Archaeology based articles and writing articles that
meet our own and others high standards, and to improve Wikipedia's diet of articles
on this wonderful discipline. Don't for get our {{User WikiProject Archaeology}} userbox. If you have any questions, do ask. Please be very welcome. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk)08:22, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to WP:WPEE! We hope you have an enjoyable time editing articles related to EastEnders! Please read WP:WPEE for guidelines etc.
I have noticed that you have joined many, many WikiProjects recently. Are you intending on actually helping out in our project or do you just want the user box? (I've also noticed you haven't edited any EastEnders-related articles...) Trampikey18:50, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Apple Corps v. Apple Computer. A case brought by Apple Corps against Apple Computer, regarding possible infringement of a previous agreement between the two parties in respect of distribution of music, was heard in a London High Court. The story made Wikipedia's front page due to a nomination by our own Kingboyk. The story had an amusing second wave in the news and on Wikipedia; be sure to read the article on Guy Goma if you missed it!
Project News
The Beatles article has been approved for inclusion in Wikipedia Version 0.5, making it one of the first 20 articles to be selected and the first in the Music category.
Eleven new articles have been listed in the Project Log since 1 May.
The hottest Project page this month has been Policy Talk, where some lively discussion has taken place regarding the (perennial) question of the capitalisation of the letter T in "The Beatles". After seeking the comments of Wikipedian third parties unrelated to the project, the proponents and opponents concluded that the current naming policy was correct. The discussion had the added bonus of bringing in some new members.
Project member (and "co-instigator" of The Beatles Project) Lar was made an Administrator. Project member Kingboyk (the other guilty party) has been awarded a Music Barnstar for his contributions, including his work within The Beatles Project, and has also stewarded the KLF article to Featured Article status this month. Sometimes-contributor ZincOrbie has also been awarded a Barnstar for his work on the Badfinger article. Congratulations to all!
The Beatles have been in the real world news recently, but work on The Beatles Project continues as before. This newsletter keeps you up-to-date with what has been happening with the project and, perhaps more importantly, what needs to be done (see the "Issue of the Month" above and the "To Do List" below-left).
If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy!
Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue (Issue 003 – July 2006). All and any contributions are welcome. Just let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or start editing!
As the project is currently just starting, our more experienced editors are working on the project infrastructure, classifying articles, and listing/assessing red links. Your assistance is welcome. If you would prefer to just edit - and why wouldn't you? - we have a choice selection of red links to turn blue and articles to clean! Now let's get busy.
Project: Add {{WPBeatles}} to the talk pages of all Beatles-related articles. Send a newsletter to members, canvas for new members, and coordinate tasks. Enter articles classed as stubs into this list (under To Expand) and also list articles needing cleaning and other work here.
If you complete one of these tasks, please remove it from the list and add your achievement to the project log.
Want to help on next month's newsletter? Don't want to receive these in future? Don't want it subst'd next time? - It's all here

Hello! I realize that the Fan fiction WikiProject is practically dead at this point, but, I'm a tenacious one, and to be frank, the coverage of fan fiction on the Wiki is still quite poor.
So, I was hoping I could persuade you to take a look or three at the fan fiction article, especially since according to your userboxes, you've got a law degree. This was especially interesting to me, because at current, the "Legal issues" section is practically worthless, despite probably being worthy (if it were actually well-written, non-U.S.-centric, and properly referenced, sourced and cited) of having its own article. Mary Sue is similarly uncited throughout, though again, I'm most concerned with the main article for fan fiction, because to be frank, even with all the work I and others have been putting into it, it's still not very good. Sure, it's reasonably well-organized and at some points even surprisingly well-written, prose-wise, but the lack of cites and hideous state of the Legal section keeps it from being anything close to a genuinely good article.
Hello to all members of WikiProject EastEnders! Please take a look at the to do list above, and see what you can do to help out! All help would be much appreciated, and the projects on this list are priorities! Thanks Trampikey20:06, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
WikiProject Musicals
Hi! I'm leaving you this message because your name is listed as a participant in WikiProject Musicals (previously WikiProject Broadway) or I feel you may be interested in the project. It seems that the project has laid dormant for quite awhile, but I would like to work toward getting it up and operative. I have a few ideas that I've outlined on the talk page, and would love your input. Working together, I think we can signifigantly improve the quality of the articles relating to musicals on Wikipedia. — MusicMaker06:07, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Billy Preston, often considered the Fifth Beatle, died on 6 June at age 59. The American soul musician was a long term friend of The Beatles and was the only person to receive joint credit on a Beatles single ("Get Back"). Preston was an Apple Records recording artist and he performed at George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh and at the Concert for George, both energetic and memorable performances. He also played regularly with The Rolling Stones and a number of other artists.
New article classification system, for our use and for Wikipedia 1.0. Very important and we need editor involvement. How can you help? Rate articles! It's easy:
After deciding what grade it should have, modify the invocation of {{WPBeatles}} on the talk page to add parms. The template itself gives you the parameters to use. For example, change {{WPBeatles}} to {{WPBeatles|B|Low}} if you think it's a low-importance, B-class article. Save your changes and make sure the talk page is now showing the ratings.
Click on the link in the template to edit the /comments subpage and explain why you rated the article the way you did. Don't forget to sign with ~~~~. Save that too.
Want to stay up on new project developments? Watchlist all of the WikiProject pages plus The Beatles and each of the 4 members, to get a feel for what's happening. Also monitor and regularly review Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/The Beatles articles by quality log. If an article is listed on there as "added", go check the article's history. If it's new since the Project began add it to the Project Log as a new article and up the counter by one :)
It was a bit of a struggle to get this month's newsletter done, as we did it without a lead editor. Hopefully, next month you'll jump in and be our lead editor. Big news is that WP:1.0 is coming along nicely and our article classification system has changed to conform to it.
If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy!
Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue (Issue 004 – August 2006). Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!

Can we add some guidelines for naming TV eps in the wikiproject TV eps? this is basically my criteria But if that's going to be valid (or not) it should be explain tn this page (the article, not in the talk page).
My vote is for Not using parenthesis clarification, if there is nothing else called that way (as everything else works on wikipedia if there is no disambiguation). That's also informative, as readers can infer whether the title of the episode comes from something else or it is a cultural reference..--T-man, the wise08:23, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moving excess information and specifics to Wookieepedia (and providing links to Wookieepedia per the "see also" and/or "external links" sections)
Enhanced communication amongst WikiProject members
More to come
These should provide the basic steps needed to improve and "encyclopedia-fy" the Star Wars series of articles.
Things to do
There are plenty of Wikipedia:WikiProject Star Wars/things to do. An update to the page is coming very soon, and it will represent the new and exciting changes that Star Wars pages will be receiving!
Out-of-universe versus in-universe perspectives
Although details are forthcoming, I would like to take this time to explain the gist of this concept. Wikipedia has generally agreed that fictional articles should write about the topic from a "real world" perspective, focusing on real world issues and topics, with a section or two for plot synopsis and so on. Jabba the Hutt is a solid character example, and Clone Wars (Star Wars) is quickly moving toward an out of universe perspective.
Article evolution
As many of you know, lists of minor Star Wars-related themes are very common on Wikipedia; however, since these may be seen as violations of Wikipedia policy (and having seperate articles would breach even more policies), the tentative solution is to create general articles on a list's topic (for example, turning List of Star Wars devices into Technology of Star Wars, which allows us to cover everything from hyperspace to comlinks in a general encyclopedic fashion). This can be very tough for some broad topics, so the key is organization. I encourage all editors to list their ideas on the WikiProject talk page. It will be a very difficult — but tangible — effort.
For an example, let me point you to the Final Fantasy WikiProject. Some of us over at that WikiProject decided to turn various components of Final Fantasy X, such as Pyreflies, Yevon, and the backstory — into an article describing the world of Spira. Location descriptions were given a List of locations in Spira article, and the details themselves were placed on the Spira (Final Fantasy X) page. This is a decent template to follow — however, we will need to place priority on out-of-universe, "real life" topics and perspectives in realtion to the article.
Sounds confusing, eh? It won't, for examples will be popping up left and right in the near future!
I'm trying to build a consensus for a Wikiproject Peer review process. I've opened a discussion page here. Would you like to comment? Would you be prepared to take part in the peer review process? Many thanks. --Mcginnly | Chinwag12:24, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
IG Farben Building FAC
Also, I posted the IG Farben Building on the FAC on the 17th July. It currently has a support consensus, but only from 4 people. I'd be more comfortable with a stronger consensus and was wondering if you might be prepared to comment on the article? Many thanks. --Mcginnly | Chinwag12:24, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The Indigenous Peoples of North America Portal has been established, as a starting point for those wishing to learn more about the subject, with information and links on a wide variety of issues. It also contains news regarding the continent's various tribes and nations. It's a graphically pleasing site, and everyone is encouraged to check it out.
The project's talk page template has been updated, along with the classification system, to include the assessment on the talk pages of the articles that have been classified and assessed.
Balance
As the Project reaches its first six months of activity, the great effort all of you have invested in it has turned the vast information available on Indigenous North American topics from a deorganized cumulous into an excellent and easy to consult database. Although much work is still in order, few WikiProjects are able to obtain the amazing results we are proud to show today. To all of you, thank you and congratulations!
The assessment of articles within the scope of the project is still an ongoing process. We need people to help in this who are not contributors to the articles they are assessing. Also, there is the ongoing need for identifying and cataloguing articles that fall within the scope of this project. As of today, nearly 1,500 have been identified within the Project's scope.
