Slot Car Rides are theme park rides that are propelled by an onboard electric motor through a slot car track. Disney developed the technology, first implemented in 1999, with Test Track at EPCOT. Test Track was a success, and they followed it up with Journey to the center of the earth at Tokyo DisneySea and Radiator Springs Racers at California Adventure.

As with normal, miniature slot cars, the rides are guided by a slot car track. They are moved by an electric motor and are connected to hidden wires. This has created problems. For example, shortly after a Radiator Springs Racers opened, it rained, shorting the wires. The ride had to be refurbished to fix the problem.[citation needed]
