"Poison"
Song

"Poison" is a song by British recording artist Rita Ora. The song was released on 18 May 2015, serving as the first single from her upcoming, currently untitled, second studio album. The single peaked at number three in the UK.[2]

Background

Since releasing "I Will Never Let You Down" in March 2014, Ora had not released a solo single; however, she did feature on songs by other artists.[2] Commenting on the release of "Poison", Ora stated the importance of releasing "the right song" for her first solo single in over twelve months.[2] The track deals with an unhealthy, toxic relationship.[3]

Music video

A music video to accompany the release of "Poison" was first released on Vevo on 3 June 2015 at a total length of four minutes and fifty-four seconds. An additional video was released for the official remix of the song, featuring Krept and Konan, for Hunger TV.

Live performances

Ora performed the song on BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend on 24 May 2015, and Summertime Ball on 6 June 2015.[4] She also performed the song on The Graham Norton Show (aired 26 June 2015), and on The John Bishop Show (aired 4 July 2015), on BBC One. She also performed the Zdot remix of song at Wireless Festival with Krept and Konan.
