Hameed Akhtar (1924–2011), was a veteran columnist, writer, journalist and secretary-general of the Progressive Writers Association.[2] He was also the father of Saba Waseem Abbas.[3]

Family

Hameed Akhtar had a daughter Saba Hameed. Saba Hameed married Pervaiz Shafi Syed, who were separated later.[3] They had a daughterMeesha Shafi and Faris Shafi. She later married Waseem Abbas, with whom she had Ali Abbas, actor.
