Kara Musa Pasha
Kara Musa Pasha was an Ottoman soldier and statesman who was named grand vizier by the Sultan Ibrahim I on 16 September 1647 after Nevesinli Salih Pasha's execution. Since Kara Musa Pasha was in campaign in Crete in his title of Kapudan Pasha (Grand Admiral of the Ottoman Navy), the imperial seal was sent to him by way of sea. But Musa Pasha fell in front of the castle of Kandiye (Iraklion), on 21 September, after having received the news of his promotion but before having taken over the seal. Upon his death, Hezarpare Ahmed Pasha, who was delegated as acting grand vizier while waiting for Kara Musa Pasha'a arrival was promoted to the rank of full grand vizier.
For these reasons, Kara Musa Pasha is not included in some lists covering the Grand Viziers of the Ottoman Empire.
