Hunting the Clean Boot is a term that has been used in Britain to refer to the use of bloodhounds to follow natural human scent.
The 'clean boot' refers to the fact that there is no artificial scent such as aniseed or fox scent, used in drag-hunting and more recently trail hunting adopted by some established foxhound packs in England and Wales.
