GZ Media is a Czech company that is the biggest manufacturer of vinyl in the world.[1] It makes approximately 60% of the world's vinyl records.[2]

It was founded in 1948, as Gramofonove Zavody,[3] and starting in 1951 supplied records across the Eastern Bloc during the Soviet era.[4] The company operates from Lodenice[5] and employs almost 2,000 people.[6] Its owner and president is Zdenek Pelc,[7] who is the longest running CEO in Czech Republic history.[8]

According to The Guardian, as of 2016, GZ Media is a £76 million company pressing 25 million records a year.[9] In 2015 it produced about 65,000 records per day.[10] The company deals with all the major music labels.[11]
