Roeland Pieter Schaftenaar (born July 29, 1988) is a Dutch basketball player for the Larissas Faros of the Greek Basket League.

Professional career

Schaftenaar started his career playing four years in the LEB Oro league, the Spanish second division.

On October 11, 2014, he signed with Rethymno.[2] On January 24, 2015, he extended his contract with the club for another two years.[3] After temporarily leaving the team after the first 4 games of the 2016-17 season, he returned to Rethymno on January 23, 2017 in order to replace Brandon Edwards.

Personal life

Schaftenaar is the older brother of fellow Oregon State alum and professional player Olaf Schaftenaar.[4]
