You said that you removed a fact about Elaine Joyce I wrote. Would be helpful if you'd tell me which one you felt had no citation. Everything I posted had citations.

鉴于所谓“共識(consensus)”问题,我停止对所有Ymblanter的照片修改,不过对所谓“分裂性的修改”,“個人圖片集”的指责,我很遗憾。--Tyg728 (talk) 03:33, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
(Translation) Regarding the “consensus” problem, I have stopped editing Ymblanter’s photos (??), but I feel disappointed about the accusations such as “disruptive editing” and “personal photo collection” ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 06:23, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- (Translation) Let me make things clear - it is totally appropriate for you to be bold to change the photos, but if someone cintested your actions and want to discuss the matter with you, then you should not persist your own opinions and neglecting others’ thoughts (WP:DE). We should seek consensus (I’ve explained this to you). Also, there is a rule called the “Three revert rule” in English Wikipedia which forbiddens usersperforming 3 reverts on a single page within 24 hours, and violators will be sanctioned. I suggest you and Ymblanter to discuss before you edit anything. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (alt) (talk to me) 06:11, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Ymblanter: 此车站的无柱站厅很有特色,增加站厅的照片,编辑中没有去除你的照片。How about this change?--Tyg728 (talk) 14:06, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- (Translation) @Ymblanter: The pillarless concourse of this station is special. [I] added a few photos of the concourse without removing yours. How about this change? ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 10:12, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Indefinite block
From the user posting this: Give me an indefinite global block. I'll be very proud. I've been told my edits were bad but back then that wasn't their intention. After all, no edit isn't vandalism (right now). Just give me no chances. I know that those edits were made not to vandalize or disrupt Wikipedia but treat me as a person deported from a major country.211.27.126.189 (talk) 10:25, 18 November 2018 (UTC) No jokes.211.27.126.189 (talk) 10:32, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- IPs should not be indefinitely blocked. Rules are rules and they ought to be followed. We seek consensus here. If you continue to edit without (against) consensus and refuse to participate in the discussion, then it is regarded as disruptive editing. You are proud of your incompetence in following simple rules and ask for sanctions as if you're the only rational one? ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 10:39, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- My point is that I feel like my edits have been looked too much on the negative side. I tried replying that those edits weren't made to make things bad (some vandalism on my talk page and admin noticeboard because those warnings made me quite angry is all I did to make something bad on Wikipedia on purpose) but that was pointless, contrary to what was expected from me.
- BTW I don't have interest in a username (in case you thought it would be better which is quite reasonable), so I'm not sure how long I could be blocked for. Now it seems like IP accounts mostly stay unblocked, and when that's not the case, the block is usually very short (maybe over within 24 hours of coming into effect).
- PS 123.243.100.66 as an IP account for Wikipedia is also the same person in real life.
- Finally, I don't feel so angry now that I've been typing so much but I need something on my talk page or at least very easy accessible. A way to tell whether an edit meant for the better is actually for the better. IF you've seen empty information on games in the 2018 World Chess Championship (as in the Wikipedia page), that thing I want to get will probably dissuade me from putting such information on the same or similar articles every again. In fact, I think an edit from me or 123.243.100.66 should always be assumed as good faith (what I mean when talking about an edit which doesn't actually improve, but has no bad intention).211.27.126.189 (talk) 10:56, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for expressing your opinion. Although your edits are made in good faith, as I've said before - they must adhere to policies. I totally understand why you added those frameworks in World Chess Championship 2018, but since Fbergo objected your edit, and you continued to revert neglecting the opposition (thus violated the three revert rule), CaradhrasAiguo took the most appropriate action - report to the edit warring noticeboard.
- In case you don't know,
<!-- TEXT -->
act as a reminder or note, readers cannot see the "TEXT" as it is hidden. - The article appears to be a current event, many editors are paying attention to it, so there is no need to remind yourself add the missing information as soon as possible where the events have not happened yet. Please be mindful. Regarding the IP address indefinite block, see here. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 11:22, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- I have no interest in adding the framework now that its pointless given a few users disagree. Lesson learned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.27.126.189 (talk) 11:37, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, your report is still at the edit warring noticeboard. Good luck ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 11:39, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

I've seen the report but I think I don't need a block (in my opinion, and you're not the user reporting me).211.27.126.189 (talk) 11:46, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "I don't need a block"? It should be the reviewing administrator who decides whether or not to block, not yourself. You are welcome to comment in it. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 11:48, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
I'm not trying to officially decide whether I'll be blocked (which doesn't even make any sense).211.27.126.189 (talk) 11:54, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- My block is over, and I think your username (no offence) is also a scientific name. Right?211.27.126.189 (talk) 09:31, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- Not that scientific. I just like it. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 10:15, 20 November 2018 (UTC)

Hello there, Have you noticed that this one is not a biography but an article about a TV show? You can not use BLPPROD on such articles. I guess it's an error from your end as BLPPROD is only for biographical articles with zero sourcing. Thanks. Hitro talk 14:04, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- @HitroMilanese: Oh seems I didn't notice that it is not a BLP but a TV show (I don't know why). Removed the BLPPROD tag. Thanks for your reminder. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 14:07, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
Knockbeg category
Hi there, just spotted the category you created through AfC. I'm used to renaming articles, but not too sure about categories, but the spelling is Knockbeg College, which itself is a redirect. I'm not sure how to proceed. Thanks! Smirkybec (talk) 17:07, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

Recent changes
- You can vote on proposals in the Community Wishlist Survey. The survey decides what the Community Tech team will work on. You can vote until 30 November.
- There is an A/B test for
sameAs
data. This is to make it easier to find the right information with a search engine. This changes the metadata for a wiki page. It doesn't change how the page looks. [1]
Changes later this week
- There is no new MediaWiki version this week.
Meetings
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 21 November at 15:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- The Wikimedia wikis use templates to show readers there are problems with the content on some pages. For example if there are no sources or the page needs to be rewritten. The mobile website will soon show more information when you use these templates. Some templates may need to be updated. [2]
- The Education Program extension was removed from all Wikimedia projects. The database tables used by the extension will be archived. This will happen in a month. If you want the information on your wiki you should move it to a normal wiki page. [3]

ArbCom 2018 election voter message
Hello, Abelmoschus Esculentus. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 2 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

IP Banned
Hey mate, I was scrolling through a wikipedia post when an info box popped up and said I had 4 unread messages, and when I clicked on the link I noticed that it said my IP had been banned, for an edit on an article I had never seen. I thought you should know that this IP is not a real IP, just a VPN connected through the Psiphon3 application. As this IP will be recorded I will not write it down but I thought you should know that this is one (of many) IPs that are used by the Psiphon3 Application. Sorry for the inconvenience, and it doesn't affect me in any way (my IP will change again next time I connect) but I thought that it would be helpful for you. Thanks for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 175.38.60.98 (talk) 12:39, 25 November 2018 (UTC)

Adoption
Hello, I have spent most of my time on Wikipedia fighting vandalism. I would love to learn some more about better (and faster) ways to fight it from a more experienced editor A 10 fireplane (talk) 18:46, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
- @A 10 fireplane: I’ve been quite busy recently and I’ve already adopted 4 users. You may wish to enroll in WP:CVUA. Sorry. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus talk / contribs 10:29, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- No problem, thanks anyways but I have found an adopter A 10 fireplane (talk) 14:48, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Request for making Userbox
Hey man, a sincere request to you from my side. Please make 3 userboxes for Pearl jam. It should be like-"This user is Super fan of Pearl jam", "This user listens to Pearl jam", "This user loves Pearl jam". It would be really great if you add something really innovative like photo or something in it.Note that its not an order brother but just a request as i am finding problems doing it myself. When you make it please tell me how i can get access to it since i am helping in categorising some bands fans on wikipedia. To reply to me simply leave a message below, i will see it as soon as i get free. Regards 2405:204:A281:BCA1:0:0:757:40A1 (talk) 08:25, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hi anon. As you are not logged in (registered an account), you cannot have your own user page. Userboxes are designed to be put on user pages. Would you consider registering an account and leave a message here if you have done so? Best ―Abelmoschus Esculentus talk / contribs 14:57, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- Oh sorry, i missed that. Actually i want you to add those userboxes(as i told you in the message above) on the Wikipedia:Userboxes/Music/Bands,L-Z page. You should type half of it on your web browser to find thi page out. You can see in there a P section in which there is already 1 userbox for pearl jam. You can add the new userbox code just below that and i would get it from there on. REGARDS117.234.68.240 (talk) 07:24, 29 November 2018 (UTC)

Playstation Portable
Hi, can you make sure that I put the technical specification list from Playstation Portable into prose correctly?? this was the Technical Specification list form and i tried my best to convert it to prose form as can be seen here. . If I messed up prosing it or if anything wasn't prosed correctly from the list, maybe you can fix it or point out specifically what needs to be fixed?? Thanks. BTW, congrats on possibly getting rollback again. JC7V (talk) 17:18, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
- @JC7V7DC5768: It looks fine. You really think linking GB/s is necessary? I've been waiting for more than a week since I filed my request. :( ―Abelmoschus Esculentus talk / contribs 10:39, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Interface administrator changes
- Following a request for comment, the Mediation Committee is now closed and will no longer be accepting case requests.
- A request for comment is in progress to determine whether members of the Bot Approvals Group should satisfy activity requirements in order to remain in that role.
- A request for comment is in progress regarding whether to change the administrator inactivity policy, such that administrators "who have made no logged administrative actions for at least 12 months may be desysopped". Currently, the policy states that administrators "who have made neither edits nor administrative actions for at least 12 months may be desysopped".
- A proposal has been made to temporarily restrict editing of the Main Page to interface administrators in order to mitigate the impact of compromised accounts.
- Administrators and bureaucrats can no longer unblock themselves unless they placed the block initially. This change has been implemented globally. See also this ongoing village pump discussion (permalink).
- To complement the aforementioned change, blocked administrators will soon have the ability to block the administrator that placed their block to mitigate the possibility of a compromised administrator account blocking all other active administrators.
- Since deployment of Partial blocks on Test Wikipedia, several bugs were identified. Most of them are now fixed. Administrators are encouraged to test the new deployment and report new bugs on Phabricator or leave feedback on the Project's talk page. You can request administrator access on the Test Wiki here.
- Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee Elections is open to eligible editors until Monday 23:59, 3 December 2018. Please review the candidates and, if you wish to do so, submit your choices on the voting page.
- In late November, an attacker compromised multiple accounts, including at least four administrator accounts, and used them to vandalize Wikipedia. If you have ever used your current password on any other website, you should change it immediately. Sharing the same password across multiple websites makes your account vulnerable, especially if your password was used on a website that suffered a data breach. As these incidents have shown, these concerns are not pure fantasies.
- Wikipedia policy requires administrators to have strong passwords. To further reinforce security, administrators should also consider enabling two-factor authentication. A committed identity can be used to verify that you are the true account owner in the event that your account is compromised and/or you are unable to log in.
- Shock Brigade Harvester Boris (Raymond Arritt) passed away on 14 November 2018. Boris joined Wikipedia as Raymond arritt on 8 May 2006 and was an administrator from 30 July 2007 to 2 June 2008.

I do want an image , you either use the club logo with a red scratch on it , or the letters " B.V.B. " in yellow upon a black background (with a red scrath on it) . If you want , I can upload and paste on your talk page what sort of a thing I want .
Grunthog (talk) 11:57, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Grunthog: Please do not duplicate sections. Could you please upload the image you mentioned? (from the picture, it seems you have made it) I cannot crop it inside Wikipedia. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus talk / contribs 12:00, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
You mean , I will crop it and re-upload to with only the coloured part remaining ? Grunthog (talk) 12:04, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
Okay , I will crop it , then re-upload it to commons tomorrow . Grunthog (talk) 12:30, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Recent changes
- Admins will not be able to unblock themselves if they are blocked by someone other than themselves. This is because it can cause damage if someone else takes over an admin account and other admins can't block them. If this is a problem for your community you can report it on Phabricator. You can also ask questions on Meta. There is a discussion on Phabricator about how to solve this if two admins fight with each other on a small wiki. [8]
- Small SVG images are now bigger when you see them in MediaViewer. [9]
- You can go to a section from the edit summary by clicking on the section name. Before this you had to click on the arrow. [10]
- When you jumped to a footnote that was referenced several times in an article it could be difficult to see where you were in the text. Now there are jump marks and highlights to help you find your way back. [11][12]
Changes later this week
- There is no new MediaWiki version this week.
Meetings
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 5 December at 16:00 (UTC) and at 23:00 (UTC). See how to join.

Guild of Copy Editors December 2018 Newsletter
Hello and welcome to the December 2018 GOCE newsletter. Here is what's been happening since the August edition. Thanks to everyone who participated in the August blitz (results), which focused on Requests and the oldest backlog month. Of the twenty editors who signed up, eleven editors recorded 37 copy edits. For the September drive (results), of the twenty-three people who signed up, nineteen editors completed 294 copy edits. Our October blitz (results) focused on Requests, geography, and food and drink articles. Of the fourteen people who signed up, eleven recorded a total of 57 copy edits. For the November drive (results), twenty-two people signed up, and eighteen editors recorded 273 copy edits. This helped to bring the backlog to a six-month low of 825 articles. The December blitz will run for one week, from 16 to 22 December. Sign up now! Elections: Nominations for the Guild's coordinators for the first half of 2019 will be open from 1 to 15 December. Voting will then take place and the election will close on 31 December at 23:59 UTC. Positions for Guild coordinators, who perform the important behind-the-scenes tasks that keep our project running smoothly, are open to all Wikipedians in good standing. We welcome self-nominations, so please consider nominating yourself if you've ever thought about helping out; it's your Guild and it doesn't run itself! Thank you all again for your participation; we wouldn't be able to achieve what we have without you! Cheers from your GOCE coordinators; Reidgreg, Baffle gab1978, Jonesey95, Miniapolis and Tdslk.
