Sivasankarapuram is a village located near Thalaivasal, 5 km far from Thalaivasal. Main business is agriculture and poultry form. Most of them plant Maize, sugarcane, Topiaca and vegetables such as chilli, Brinjal, raddish, Lady's finger and so on. There is a market in Thalaivasal which make the farmers to sell the vegetables easily to the merchants. There is a Maariyaman temple in the middle of the village.
