The 2020 Triple J Hottest 100 will be announced on the 23 January 2021. It will be the 27th countdown of the most popular songs of the year, as chosen by listeners of Australian radio station Triple J. The countdown will be announced on the fourth weekend of January.
Background
Triple J's Hottest 100 allows members of the public to vote online for their top ten songs of the year, which are then used to calculate the year's 100 most popular songs. Any song initially released between 1 December 2019 and 30 November 2020 will be eligible for 2020's Hottest 100.
Projections
By November 2020, various music blogs and bookmakers placed Glass Animals, The Weeknd, Spacey Jane, and Flume as the four artists most likely to be voted into first place.[1] Glass Animals previously placed 12th in 2014, The Weeknd previously placed 9th in 2015, Spacey Jane previously placed 80th in 2019, and Flume previously placed 1st in 2016.
