Background and promotion

On 6 July 2020, Larsson announced the lead single "Love Me Land" through her social media.[1] She released the song with a music video on 10 July.[2] On the same day, in an interview with Sveriges Radio she announced that the then-untitled album was completed. She stated: "I am prepared in a completely different way. I have the next song ready, album cover, the video, the album is done. I just feel ready in a different way".[3] In an interview with Borderless Melodies Larsson revealed the album title of Poster Girl and that "Wow" would also be included on the album, after officially announcing it as a single on 26 August 2020.[4][5] The album's third single, "Talk About Love" featuring Young Thug, was released on 8 January 2021.[6][7] Poster Girl was announced on the same day, during a livestream before the premiere of the "Talk About Love" music video.[7] The same day, Larsson posted the cover art on her social media and announced that the album would be released on 5 March 2021.[7][8]
