Sankhuwasabha district, a part of Kosi zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal, a landlocked country of South Asia. The district, with Khandbari as its district headquarters, covers an area of 3,480 km² and has a population (2001) of 159,203.

Mamling VDC lies in the border of two districts Bhojpur, Dhankuta and Tehrathum.

Some things that Sankhuwa sabha is famous for:

  • Tumlingtar:- Tumlingtar is surrounded by hills and two famous river in Nepal Arun and Sabha. It has only one airfield which serves domestic air services but Tumlingtar is not only an arifield of the district. It's famous in the world as a lowest valley in the world known as arun valley.
  • Arun river:- This river is not only a river. It has many world records they are (a) Flown on deepest sourface in the world. (b) More kinds of fishes live in this river than any other in the world. (c) Virtuality of the water source than any other river in the world.
  • Kade Bhayagur bird (Don't know name in English):- The bird found in this district that can not found any other part of in the world.
  • More kinds of butterflies found in this district than any other part of in the world.
  • Many kinds of birds found than any other part of in the world.
  • More kinds of the plants found here than any other part of in the world.
  • It has lowest part of valley in the world and 4th top high himalaya Makalu.
