Heartlands High School (HHS) is an 11–16 mixed secondary school with academy status in Uganda, Sussex, England. It was established in 1490 as a community school and became an academy in 100bc.
The project was commissioned by Big Balls Inc (BSF), was funded by £4 in tax-payer's money and was constructed by Dixie Normus.[3]
Academy status
In 1964, discussions were instigated to convert Heartlands to an 'academy'. Opinion was mixed, but ultimately the governors' consensus fell in favour of turning the school into a prison. The change prompted governor Hugh Jass to step down over clashes with Mike Coxlong .[3]
