This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Lou Crazy (talk | contribs) at 03:19, 28 January 2021 (Wikilink to Sansoni (publisher) in Cite book templates). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This page is for AWB'ers who can't find anything to put it to use on, or who would like to help others with this powerful tool.

Below are tasks for which a page-autoloader with various capabilities would be especially useful. That is, the people posting these tasks need the help of AWB'ers! If you have AWB, please lend a hand. Note that Link Ninja may also be useful for completing the tasks on this list (see WP:OTS#Tabs and tabbing).

Please note that Wikipedia:Bot requests sometimes has one-time tasks which can be done easily using AWB.

The 141 subcategories of Category:Syrian Civil War which are listed here, would someone be willing to tag their pages with ? Thanks in advance. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:38, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

The IHO (again) changed the link to the standard document S-23 Limits of the Oceans and the Seas from

http://www.iho.int/iho_pubs/standard/S-23/S-23_Ed3_1953_EN.pdf

to

https://iho.int/uploads/user/pubs/standards/s-23/S-23_Ed3_1953_EN.pdf

.

Would somebody (somebotty?) please run this on the (currently 174) pages which match

insource:"http://www.iho.int/iho_pubs/standard/S-23/S-23_Ed3_1953_EN.pdf"

 Doing... 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 18:58, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I forgot to update the access-date parameter and remove |url-status=dead at first, so Iam now fixing it using my alternative account, Эарендил and will return when done. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 19:48, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That part is done, I will now adapt my regex to do this directly and then continue. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 20:07, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nomentz: I was a bit more than halfway through, but my computer crashed, so I'll have to figure out the regex again because I was too lazy to save the preferences. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 21:32, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nomentz:  Done. The search will still return results, because I did not change any archive links. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 13:51, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
 Done Thank you very much.--Nomentz (talk) 14:04, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sansoni (publisher) is an old and important Italian publisher, whose page was recently created.

There are hundreds of pages with Cite book templates for works published by Sansoni.

It would be useful to link them to the publisher page.

So my proposal is that a bot should look for instances of Cite book where there is one of these parameters:

|publisher=G. C. Sansoni
|publisher=G.C. Sansoni
|publisher=Sansoni

And replace it respectively with:

|publisher=G.C. Sansoni
|publisher=G.C. Sansoni
|publisher=Sansoni

The replace should only be done on the first instance in each page, of course, to avoid excessive wikilinks.

Thank you in advance!

First of all, thank you. However it seems that the search query didn't find pages such as Bric delle Camere or Katherine Ruth Bridges which have "publisher=Sansoni".
Can you look into it?
Thank you!

This search finds 23 articles with a variation on "publisher=Sansoni". GoingBatty (talk) 05:22, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, I forgot to look for the ones where no initials where present. Thanks. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 06:57, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
