Hello, my name is Daniel Carranza Gomez. I am a freshman student at the University of California Merced. I am currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering, but I find myself using and learning how Wikipedia works for my writing class. In my writing class, we will explore extinction events, some of the causes of extinction events and how the world around us has been shaped by previous extinctions. I have heard many times in the past that Wikipedia is not the most reliable source because of the freedom that it gives to its users with the ability of enabling them to edit any page on Wikipedia, but after spending some time understanding how Wikipedia works, it can be assumed that Wikipedia can be a reliable and trustworthy internet source.
