"Siberian Khatru" is the third song on progressive rock band Yes's album Close to the Edge. It is notable for being the only song on this album that is not a multi-part suite, though it still contains several separate melodies, tones, and sections, in the tradition of progressive rock. It is often considered calm or slow, along with Roundabout froM Fragile (Album), in comparison to when it is performed live, by the band.

Structure

The first minute or so is a brief introductory guitar phrase followed by variations of the beginning riff before the lyrics start at about 1:02. The entire song retains the same lyrical structure throughout, but has many different changes in melody and background music.
