Basildon Town Centre

Eastgate Shopping Centre, better known as Eastgate, is a shopping centre located in Basildon, Essex.

Layout

The Centre has 4 levels. The Ground and First Floors are set out in a standard Shopping Mall set up. The Second and Third Floors are branded as "The Galleries" and house smaller independent retailers.

The Mall area has many High Street Retailers including a Next, River Island and a New Look.

At the West End of the centre is the Debenhams Department Store, purchased from Allders. The East End is occupied by an Asda Wallmart Superstore, which replaced the Sainsbury's Savacentre.

The Centre has its own inbuilt Multi Story Car Park, and the Asda also has a large Car Parking Area and a Petrol Station.

Allders has now closed and has been replaced by Debenhams theres is also a 10 million pound re-investment into the centre which will bring it up to date with other shopping centres. (Ash Khan)
