Featuring your work on Wikipedia's front page: DYKs
Thank you for your recent articles, including Jan Otrębski, which I read with interest. When you create an extensive and well referenced article, you may want to have it featured on Wikipedia's main page in the Did You Know section. Articles included there will be read by thousands of our viewers. To do so, add your article to the list at T:TDYK. Let me know if you need help, Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:58, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- User:Piotrus, I followed your advice and nominated it at T:TDYK.--Bob not snob (talk) 06:35, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- Nice! I could review it myself but I think it will be more interesting to see what another reviewer things about it. A review may take anything from few hours to few weeks; if there are any issues you will get a message here, otherwise it will be featured on the from page (and again you'll get a notification here). Happy editing! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:14, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

An editor has asked for a Move review of Murder in Texas. Because you participated in the move discussion for this page, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the move review. ~ Amkgp 💬 18:38, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
DYK for Jan Otrębski
On 18 July 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jan Otrębski, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Jan Otrębski, who knew nothing of the Lithuanian language until his adulthood, is honored in Lithuania for his studies of the language? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jan Otrębski. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Jan Otrębski), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Alert
Please carefully read this information:
The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding Eastern Europe, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.
Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you that sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.Re
Unfortunately, I do not know Polish, and I am not sufficiently familiar with Polish sources and politics to respond to your comment. Thanks, My very best wishes (talk) 15:47, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
- You should take care then, the source you restored is extremist.--Bob not snob (talk) 11:48, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
Important Notice
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in Eastern Europe or the Balkans. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

- Apologies, but technically the above notice didn’t alert you as it was the old one. Like it says. Not an implication of wrongdoing, just given out because you’re active in the area. TonyBallioni (talk) 06:14, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- User:TonyBallioni, why are all these similarly worded alerts needed? I have been editing Polish topics since registering. Is this about Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#The Volunteer (book) and Witold Pilecki? Pilecki is our 1940 version of Davy Crockett, very brave but also many myths. One of the editors on that page is very aggressive about including the myths, to the point that it sucks out the fun of editing. What should I do differently, if at all?--Bob not snob (talk) 11:00, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- W:AC/DS is a special set of rules for areas of high conflict. They require that people be aware of them using a formal template for them to apply. The one given above was the wrong one, so I updated it to be the correct one. And yeah, I’d noticed the conflict surrounding that topic so just wanted to make sure you were “aware” in the formal sense. TonyBallioni (talk) 14:53, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
