Confounding Factor was a British video game developer based in Bristol, England. The company was established in 1997 by Toby Gard and Paul Douglas, both former Core Design employees.[1][2] Almost immediately after its founding, Confounding Factor was signed to a multi-game deal with Interplay Entertainment.[3] The studio developed only a single title during its lifetime, Galleon,[4] which was released in 2004 for the Microsoft Xbox console.[5] They disbanded soon after,[6] with Gard taking up a position with UK video game publisher Eidos.[7]
