The arboreal splayfoot salamander or arboreal flat-footed salamander (Chiropterotriton arboreus) is a species of salamander in the family Plethodontidae.[2] It is endemic to Mexico where it is only found near its type locality near Tianguistengo in the Hidalgo state. Its natural habitats are humid pine-oak and cloud forests at elevations of 1,900–2,100 m (6,200–6,900 ft) above sea level. It lives in bromeliads. It is threatened by habitat loss (deforestation and fragmentation).[1]
