Privacy of emails

I would like to add this into the list of 'controversies', although there is probably so much user apathy that I'm not sure it fits as a controversy. Anyway, like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail is allowed to read through all users' emails, for the purpose of showing targetted advertising to each of those users.
Here is verbatim text from the current (new) user agreement:
"By selecting 'OK', our technology will also analyse your communications to provide additional email features, like deals when you travel, and tailored content and ads across our network."

Something being true does not make it a controversy. We would need a reliable source that discusses this and says it is controversial. ~ GB fan 11:42, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

2020 source

"As of January 2020, Yahoo! Mail had 225 million users.[7]"

The source for this comment is an article written in 2017 7, so I assume the sentence above is wrong? SpamHunters (talk) 06:02, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done - I already changed it once but was reverted without my knowledge, Changed back, Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 15:51, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
