He is included in the category companions of the Prophet as well as his son named Yazid bin Asid.[2][3]
Virtues
When he converted to Islam together with someone from Banu Thaqif, he presented a bow to the Prophet and then asked for prayers from the Prophet, so Rasulullah prayed for goodness.[4]

The tabi'in who took the narration from him included Dhamrah bin Habib and Asid's own grandson named Khalid bin Abdullah bin Asid.
