- NAeL São Paulo: 24,200 ton (ex-French FS Foch, purchased 2001)
France
- FS Charles de Gaulle: 40,600 tons nuclear powered, commissioned 18 May 2001
India
- INS Viraat: 28,000 tons ex-British HMS Hermes (R12), commissioned 1953 and purchased 19 April 1986
Italy
- MM Giuseppe Garibaldi: (1983) 13,850 tons Italian STOVL fleet flagship
Russia
- Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Kuznetsov: 66,000 tons Admiral Kuznetsov class STOBAR aircraft carrier. Launched in 1985 as Tbilisi, renamed and operational from 1995.
Spain
- Principe de Asturias: 13,400 tons, STOVL, commissioned 30 May 1988.
Thailand
- HTMS Chakri Nareubet: 10,000 tons multi-role carrier based on Spanish Principe De Asturias design. Commissioned 10 August 1997. Though remains predominantly inactive due to lack of funds.

- HMS Illustrious (R06): 20,600 tons Invincible STOVL class aircraft carrier, commissioned 20 June 1982
- HMS Ark Royal (R07): 20,600 tons Invincible STOVL class aircraft carrier in service from 1985
United States
- USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63): 60,000 ton, non-nuclear carrier. Commissioned 21 April 1961. Due for retirement in 2007.
- USS Enterprise (CVN-65): 85,600 ton unique nuclear-powered supercarrier, commissioned 25 November 1961. First nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in service.
- USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67): 80,000 ton, non-nuclear multi-role carrier. Commissioned 7 September 1968.
- USS Nimitz (CVN-68): 104,000 ton Nimitz class nuclear-powered supercarrier in active service, commissioned 3 May 1975.
- USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69): 104,000 ton Nimitz class nuclear-powered supercarrier in active service, commissioned 18 October 1977.
- USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70): 104,000 ton Nimitz class nuclear-powered supercarrier. Commissioned 13 March 1982.
- USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71): 104,000 ton Nimitz class nuclear-powered supercarrier in active service, commissioned 25 October 1986.
- USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72): 104,000-ton Nimitz class nuclear-powered supercarrier. Commissioned 11 November 1989
