The District of Kavajë (Template:Lang-sq) was one of the was one of the 36 districts of Albania, which were dissolved in July 2000 and replaced by 12 counties. Centrally located in the Western Lowlands region of the country, it stretched over an area of 400.8 km2 (154.7 sq mi).[1] It consisted of 2 municipalities and 8 communes which made up 64 villages.[1] Its population at the 2001 census was 78,179 inhabitants.[1][2]
