Ihor Ivanovych Umansky (born January 9, 1975, in the city of Pripyat, Kyiv Oblast) is a Ukrainian economist, politician, acting Minister of Finance of Ukraine after the resignation of Viktor Pynzenyk in the second government of Yulia Tymoshenko.[1] Minister of Finance of Ukraine from March 4 to March 30, 2020. Candidate of Economic Sciences.[2]

Biography

From 1992 to 1997 he studied at the Kyiv University Economic University.[3]

Economist, Master of Business Administration. Candidate of Economic Sciences.

Career

  • January 1997 - November 1998 - Leading, Chief Specialist of the Department of Infrastructure for Investment Activity and International Investment Cooperation of the National Agency of Ukraine for Development and European Integration.[3]
  • November 1998 - January 2000 - Expert of the Service of the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine on Economic Affairs.[4]
  • February - June 2000 - Deputy Head of the Advisory Group to the Minister of Economy.
  • June 2000 - September 2001 - Head of the Department of Structural Policy of the Ministry of Economy.
  • September 2001 - September 2003 - Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and European Integration.[5][6]
  • June 2004 - June 2005 - Director of the Department for Work with Problem Banks of the General Department of Banking Supervision of the National Bank of Ukraine.[4]
  • August 2005 - October 2006 - Deputy Chairman of the Board of OJSC Ukrtransnafta.
  • May - November 2007 - Deputy Head of the State Mortgage Institution.
  • November 2007 - January 2008 - Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Investment and Innovation.[7][8]
  • January 9, 2008 - March 11, 2010 - First Deputy Minister of Finance.[9][10]
  • April 8, 2009 - March 11, 2010 - Acting Minister of Finance of Ukraine.[11]
  • October 8, 2014 - December 30, 2015 - First Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine.[12]
  • From 2016 to 2019 he was an adviser to the President of Ukraine.[13]
  • From March 12, 2020 he was a member of the National Investment Council.[14]
  • From March 13 to April 7, 2020, he was a member of the National Security and Defense Council.[15]
  • From March 5 to 30, 2020, he was the Minister of Finance of Ukraine in the government of Denis Shmygal.[16] One of the tasks the President set him was to restore order at customs and tax.[17]
